IOPC Day 6: Saroj Mehta Nails IOPC #35 Friday Spotlight For Rs. 9,74,500


India Online Poker Championship (IOPC) July 2021 continued on Day 6 with enthralling games of poker and stellar gameplay from the players. Poker players, both pros and amateurs, flocked to the virtual felts of Spartan Poker with the maximum zeal. Among the winners for the night were Saroj Mehta, Nirmal Sankhla, Kartikeya Yadav, Sandeep Bhatnagar and others. Here’s what went down on Day 6 of the IOPC:

IOPC #31 – ₹4 Lakh

IOPC #31 was the first tournament of Day 6 with a guarantee of ₹4 Lakh. The guarantee was surpassed by 1,010 entries, and the final prize pool stood at ₹4,04,000. A min-cash of ₹2,302 was paid to the top 47 places.

Kartikeya Yadav aka ‘Kartikeys123’ clinched the title as he took home ₹78,739 in prize winning. At the runner-up spot, Narendra Valuurupalli aka ‘bahubali007’ cashed ₹50,015.

IOPC #32 – ₹6.5 Lakh

The second tournament of the day was IOPC #32 with a guarantee of ₹6.50 Lakh. The final prize pool stood at ₹6,86,000, crushing the initial guarantee. Out of the 686 entries, the top 55 places managed to draw a min-cash of ₹3,361.

Sandeep Bhatnagar aka ‘ChasingExcellence’ chased the title to win it for ₹1,11,170, while mystery player ‘BetterthanB4’ finished at the runner-up spot and added ₹1,06,291 to his bankroll.

IOPC #33 – ₹7.50 Lakh

With a guarantee of ₹7.50 Lakh, IOPC #33 damaged to attract 917 entries to its felts. The tournament crushed its advertised guarantee to generate a final prize pool of ₹8,25,300. The top 79 places managed to get a taste of the final prize pool as the min-cash stood at ₹2,806.

Nirmal Sankhla aka ‘varonir’ topped the table and added ₹1,58,375 to his bankroll. Shrey Baj aka ‘Kingsb30’ finished at the runner-up spot and won ₹99,366 in prize winning.

IOPC #34 Friday Prime – ₹15 Lakh

IOPC #34 Friday Prime was a bustling and busy tournament with 2,485 entries battling it out for the top spots. Naturally, the ₹15 Lakh guarantee was crushed to generate a final prize pool of ₹19,88,000. The top 207 places were paid a min-cash of ₹2,544.

The Friday Prime title was claimed by Anuj Yadav aka ‘tittooTauji’ as he cashed a hefty sum of ₹3,51,279 in prize winning. Animesh Sehgal aka ‘animess’ walked away with ₹2,00,986 at the runner-up spot.

Other players who made in the money included Siddharth Gangwar (3rd, ₹1,41,545), Vikranth Varma (15th, ₹17,275), Gaurav Sood (16th, ₹17,287), Laksh Pal Singh (34th, ₹6,898), Rubin Labroo (36th, ₹6,898), Sahil Mahboobani (37th, ₹6,989), IOPC #11 Blaze of Glory winner Harshad Barve (42nd, ₹5,785), IOPC #35 winner, Saroj Mehta (50th, ₹5,785), Guruprasad Gupta (54th, ₹5,785), Ankit Wadhawan (63rd, ₹4,691), Anirban Das (66th, ₹4,916), Shardul Parthasarathi (74t, ₹4,035), Goonjan Mall (86th, ₹4,035), Vishal Bajaj (92nd, ₹4,035), Manish Lakhotia (128th, ₹3,041) and Big Game winner, Arun Sriram (193rd, ₹2,544).

Players like Ashish Ahuja (215th), Sanish Chhabra (217th), Kanchan Sharma (226th), Sagar Choudhury (233rd), IOPC #8 winner, Aniket Waghmare (243rd), Adda52 Game Ambassador, Kunal Patni (245th), Aman Parakh (265th) and IOPC #26 winner, Abhiskek Goindi (310th) were some players who couldn’t make it to the top 207 paid places.

IOPC #35 – Friday Spotlight – ₹50 Lakh 

IOPC #35 Friday Spotlight began at 9.30 PM on Friday night and went on all night. The biggest tournament of Day 6  attracted 495 players. The top 47 places managed to finish in the money drawing a min-cash of ₹28,500. 

IPOC #10 Monday Prime winner, Saroj Mehta aka ‘Pepperchino’ grabbed the title taking home a pay cheque of close to a million (₹9,74,500). The second spot was claimed by Rohit Agarwal aka ‘ToTheStreets’ as he had a payday of ₹6,19,000.

Devrat Singh (13th, ₹74,000), Vishal Bajaj (15th, ₹66,500), Sahil Mahboobani (16th, ₹59,00), Vishnu Khandelwal (17th, ₹59,00), IOPC #33 runner-up Shrey Baj (19th, ₹51,500), IOPC #11 Monday Spotlight winner, Manish Lakhotia (23rd, ₹46,500), Arjanveer Singh Chadha (27th, ₹41,500), Siddharth Gangwar (30th, ₹36,500), Meet Jariwala (33rd, ₹32,000), Anirban Das (34th, ₹32,000), Rajeev Kumar (35th, ₹32,000), IOPC #19 Monsterstack winner, Aditya Singh (41st, ₹28,500), Aman Parak (43rd, ₹28,500), WSOP bracelet winner and Kartik Ved (45th, ₹28,500) among others managed to make in the money.

Anuj Yadav aka ‘tittooTauji,’ who won the IOPC #34 Friday Prime title, ended up being bubbled at the 48th spot at this tourney. 2018 WPT Vietnam Main Event winner, Dhaval Mudgal (49th), Surbhit Grover (56th), Abhimanyu Mittal (61st), Vivekk Dube (70th), IOPC #11 Blaze of Glory second runner-up, Siddharth Karia (75th), Mohit Mehta (78th), Gaurav Sood (80th), Shardul Parthasarathi (84th), IPC 2020 Champion Rubin Labroo (85th), IOPC January 2021 winner, Laksh Pal Singh (86th), IOPC #2 Sunday Prime winner, Abhishek Goindi (87th), Kanchan Sharma (88th) and Siddhanth Kripalani (90th) were some notable names that left the tournament empty-handed.

IOPC #36 All Rounder – ₹10 Lakh

The IOPC #36 All Rounder with a million rupees in guarantee was a power-packed and thrilling tourney. The 612 entries crushed the initial guarantee to generate a final prize pool of ₹12,24,000. A min-cash of ₹5,997 was paid to the top 55 places.

Anonymous player ‘Krifard’ nailed this tournament and added ₹1,91,657 to his bankroll. Another mystery player ‘kartik90’ finished second with a pay cheque of ₹1,61,499.
