Germany’s Rainer Kempe ships PCA $50K Single-Day HR

Bahamas is currently witnessing one of the biggest tournament series in poker, the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure (PCA) hosted by PokerStars LIVE. Along with the main attraction of the series, the PokerStars Players Championship, there were many side events hosted, like the $25K Single-Day High Roller and the $50K Single-Day High Roller.

The $50K HR attracted a total of 35 players, all high-stakes grinders with fat bankrolls, as is always the case with High Roller events. The field was studded with plenty of high-stakes winners and top players in the All Time Money List. Justin Bonomo, Sean Winter, Patrik Antonius, Steve O’Dwyer, Mikita Badziakouski, Natural8 pro Michael Soyza, David Peters, SHR Bowl V winner Isaac Haxton, Matthias Eibinger, PokerStars Team Pro Igor Kurganov and Steffen Sontheimer were some of the runners in the tournament.

The player to be crowned as the champion of this event was German pro Rainer Kempe (above), who bagged the biggest prize of $908,100 (~INR 6.4 Crores) for finishing 1st out of the top 9 places that were paid. Kempe also finished 4th in the $25K Single-Day HR, which has now reached heads-up between Sean Winter and David Peters.

Kempe ranks 3rd in Germany’s All Time Money List and has upwards of $18.3 million in live recorded cashes. He won an awesome amount of $5 million for shipping the Super High Roller Bowl back in 2016, which is his biggest live win till date. He resides in England and has played in prestigious tournaments all over the globe from Las Vegas in the west to Macau in the east.

The Final Table of 9 itself was such a high value affair that their total net worth would easily be a multi-million dollar amount. Alex Foxen, the 2018 GPI Player of the Year, was the last to bust, finishing 2nd for $651,980. Stephen Chidwick rounded up top 3 with $423,780.

Winter, Bonomo, Haxton, Eibinger, O’Dwyer and Soyza were some of the notable players to bust before the money was reached. The champion Kempe was congratulated by everyone in his rail and celebrations began when his pocket Fours beat Foxen’s Ace-Queen.

Final 9 pay-outs –

  1. Rainer Kempe – $908,100
  2. Alex Foxen – $651,980
  3. Stephen Chidwick – $423,780
  4. Daniel Dvoress – $319,780
  5. Christoph Vogelsang – $248,380
  6. Evan Mathis – $192,480
  7. Steffen Sontheimer – $152,120
  8. Bill Perkins – $117,980
  9. Jason Koon – $90,040

Both, winner Kempe and runner-up Foxen, are expected to take part in the $100K SHR today so stay tuned to GutshotMagazine.com for timely PCA updates as well as general poker news from across the planet.
