FTS 2.0 Day 8: Sumit Sapra & Ashish Kaushik Clinch Titles On The Last Day


The last few tournaments of the India Poker Championship (IPC) Final Table Series (FTS) 2.0 were a major hit. Poker enthusiasts started grinding on the virtual felts of Spartan Poker and won some major titles. These could be the last few tournaments, but they surely had some of the best moments. Take a look at what went down on Sunday.

FTS #22 – 6 LAKH GTD

The first tournament of Sunday saw player ‘tobirama’ shipping the #22 tournament. He took a paycheque of INR 88,946. On the pre-flop, Anand raised and went all-in while ‘tobirama’ and Chhabra folded. With a higher chip stack, ‘tobirama’ shipped the tournament.

  • Buy-In: INR 1,100
  • Places paid: 63
  • Min-Cash: INR 2,792

FTS #23 – INR 35 LAKH GTD

This tournament had an INR 5,500 buy-in with 651 entries in total. The top 63 players were paid a min-cash of INR 15,225. Poker pro Sumit Sapra shipped the tournament and cashed INR 6,77,250. He was followed by Yowan Patel Peeris aka ‘PAPITO’ who won INR 4,27,000.  On level #53 of the tournament, Sapra was leading with a 4:1 chip lead as compared to Peeris. The hole cards were dealt to Peeris and Sapra as J♥ 6♠ and 3♠ A♥ respectively. The community cards were revealed as 2♣ 4♠ 4♦ 5♣ 5♥. During the showdown, Peeris had two pairs while Sapra had a Straight. Sapra eventually won the game.

  • Min-Cash: INR 15,225

FTS #24 – INR 12.50 LAKH GTD

The last tournament of the FTS 2.0 was a major hit as the advertised guarantee was crushed and an even bigger prize pool of INR 14,52,000 was formed. This tournament had 484 entries and the top 47 players were paid a min-cash of INR 8,276. This INR 3,300 tournament was shipped by Ashish Kaushik aka ‘intrcptr101’ who won INR 2,82,994 in prize money.

On level #35 Kaushik was leading with a huge difference in the chip stack as compared to Suhas N Yadav. The community cards were dealt to Kaushik and Suhas as A♣ T♣ and K♠ J♥ respectively. Suhas went all-in on the preflop. The board was revealed as 2♠ 4♥ 5♦ 6♥ 8♣. Both of them had a high card but Kaushik took the lead with the kicker card ‘A.’

  • Buy-In: INR 3,300
  • Places paid: 47
  • Min-Cash: INR 8,276
