Friday Roundup: Siddhanth Kripalani And Others Clinch Top Spots


The month of July is here, and so is the much anticipated IOPC. With just a few days left before the exciting championship finally begins, all poker players, both pros and amateurs were seen polishing their poker skills on the virtual felts ahead of the weekend. Here’s what the night looked like:

The Elite – ₹30 Lakh GTD

Spartan Poker’s staple The Elite was a bustling affair as usual. The Elite gathered 315 entries and crushed the initial guarantee of ₹30 Lakh, as the final prize pool stood at ₹31.5 Lakh. The top 31 places got to enjoy a portion of the prize pool as the min-cash stood at ₹24,720.

Anonymous player ‘ButtonsHaiBro’ shipped the tournament taking home a paycheque of ₹6,66,225. ‘Mittu Kumar’ finished second and had a payday of ₹4,48,560. Poker pro Mithun Mahesh aka ‘Zima Blue’ was seen walking away with ₹3,16,260 at the third place. 

Anirban Das (4th, ₹2,56,410), Siddharth Karia (6th, ₹1,54,035), Arsh Grover (8th, ₹82,215), Guruprasad Gupta (10th, ₹57,645), Bharath Kumar (15th, ₹46,620), Vinay B (30th, ₹27,720) and Ronuk Lekhraj (31st, ₹27,720) made in the money.

Ankit Wadhawan (33rd), Vishnu Khandelwal (37th), The Ballers winner Siddhanth Kripalani (38th), Kunal Patni (41st), Vivekk Dube (47th), Abhimanyu Mittal (56th), Goonjan Mall (59th), Rajeev Kumar (62nd) and Dhaval Mudgal (66th) among others left the table empty-handed.

Futuristic – ₹9.5 Lakh

Futuristic on Spartan Poker perfectly matched the Friday night vibe of the players. The prize pool of a little over a million (₹10,42,400), surpassed the initial guarantee. The top 119 players from the 1,303 entries took home a min-cash of ₹2,345.

Nikhil Yadav aka ‘louis02’ emerged victorious after nine long hours of play. Yadav cashed ₹1,52,130 by winning this tourney. Achintya Acharya aka ‘Achu1406’ and mystery player ‘Luckywinner’ made a deal and walked away with ₹1,24,392 and ₹1,23,758 at the second and third position respectively.

Anirban Das (5th, ₹50,139), Arun Sriram (25th, ₹5,555), Uttam Kumar Sinha (26th, ₹5,555), Siddharth Karia (38th, ₹4,190), Guruprasad Gupta (62nd, ₹3,179), Harshad Barve (70th, ₹3,179), Vivekk Dube (89th, ₹2,710) and Vikranth  Varma (104th, ₹2,345) made it to the top 119 places paid.

Siddhanth Karia who shipped The Ballers got busted at 104th position at this tourney. Jyoti Ranjan Nayak (163rd), Aman Parakh (172nd), Bharath Kumar (206th), Kunal Patni (217th) and Anish Arora (220th) were some players who got busted without making in the money.

The Weekly HighRoller – ₹12 Lakh

The Weekly HighRoller on PokerBaazi is a staple tourney full of action and thrill every week. The prize pool of ₹12 Lakh was crushed by 154 entries. The final prize pool stood at ₹15.4 Lakh. The top 18 places managed to make it in the money by drawing a min-cash of ₹20,170.

The tourney was topped by mystery player ‘bencb789,’ who added an impressive sum of ₹3,97,000 to his bankroll. Anmol Mehta was the runner-up who took home a pay cheque of ₹2,78,000, while ‘sankytheboss’ walked away with ₹1,79,000 at the third spot.

Armaan Kochhar who finished second at PokerStars Uppercut also finished in the money at this tourney. He bagged ₹23,720 at the14th position. Poker pros like Myron Pereira (20th), Sagar Choudhury (21st), Mohammad Azhar (22nd), Goonjan Mall (24th), Vivekk Dube (25th), Ankit Wadhawan (26th), Ritwik Khanna (28th), Anirban Das (29th), Gaurav Sood (33rd), Kunal Patni (34th), TheBallers winner Siddhanth Kripalani (35th), Arjanveer Singh Chadha (37th), Dhinesh Kumar (39th), Vishnu Khandelwal (45th), Mithun Mahesh (55th) and Sahil Mahboobani (78th) got busted early without making any money.

The Ballers – ₹22.5 Lakh GTD

Adda52’s The Ballers was as usual a power-packed tourney. The tourney witnessed 323, who generated a prize pool of ₹22.5 Lakh. The top 34 places were paid a min-cash of ₹15,750 at this tourney.

The Big Show and Millionaire United winner, Siddhanth Kripalani clinched the title and walked away with a massive sum of ₹4,98,995. Abhishek Gubba aka ‘messi010010’ finished at the runner-up spot and cashed ₹4,04,380. Vikranth Varma aka ‘borntrouble’ finished third at this tourney and added ₹2,47,500 to his bankroll.

Advait Rajguru (4th, ₹1,87,875), Abhishek Garg (8th, ₹56,250), Goonjan Mall (10th, ₹33,750), Bharath Kumar (24th, ₹18,000), Mithun Mahesh (25th, ₹18,000) and Srihari Bang (32nd, ₹15,750) were players who made in the money.

Uppercut – ₹10 Lakh GTD

The Uppercut on PokerStars put up an interesting game of poker. The 209 entries tournament generated a prize pool of a million rupees. The top 23 places were able to take home a piece of the million as the min-cash stood at ₹7,357.

Karan Malhotra aka ‘gogikaran’ and Armaan Kochhar aka ‘armaan007111’ finally decided to split the pot after more than six hours of play. Malhotra and Kochhar both added ₹1,00,703 each to their respective bankrolls. Poker pro Kunal Patni aka ‘iAlwaysHaveit’ grabbed the highest five-figure prize amount of ₹66,253 by finishing third.

Online reg Anirban Das (5th, ₹38,383), Amar Iyer (8th, ₹18,449), Sagar Choudhury (18th, ₹7,357) and Ashish Ahuja (23rd, ₹7,357) were among the players who finished in the money.

IOPC Sunday Superstack winner, Guruprasad Gupta bubbled at the 24th position even after re-entering the tourney twice. Vishnu Khandelwal (27th), Bharath Kumar (47th), Highroller winner, Arsh Grover (54th), Goonjan Mall (69th) and Amnol Mehta (133rd) were some players who got busted early.
