Divyank Prasoon takes down Destiny on Spartan

Spartan Poker is always under the limelight in the country, hosting numerous big tournaments for mid/high stakes poker fanatics. One such event wrapped up yesterday, Destiny 11.0 INR 25 Lakhs GTD, scheduled each Wednesday. Unquestionably, Destiny is among the most popular online tournaments, always packed with poker pros from around the country.

And what an evening it was! At sharp 8 pm, a massive field of 609 entries was recorded with each player chipping in INR 5,500 buy-in. The guarantee was smashed, ultimately creating a new prize pool of INR 30.4 Lakhs which was later shared among the top 50 places being paid a min-cash of INR 15,225. Powering through the vast field was Divyank Prasoon playing under the username ‘mikkudiv’ who shipped the tournament, adding a valuable title to his poker cabinet.

In Level #50, with the blinds at 70,000/140,000 – 14,000, Prasoon (Ad 8c) enters the final hand with a larger stack of 4.6 million playing against ‘royalking111’ (Ah 6d) with 4.4 million chips. Pre-flop saw the entire stack of the latter in the middle, getting a call from the former. The board opens Tc 2s 4c 5d Th, and there it was, Prasoon snapped the opponent holding pair of tens with 8 kicker, defeating ‘royalking111’ who eventually settled for the runner-up position. Gutshot spoke to the champion of the night who expressed, “The competition is fierce, one has to be really unpredictable to sustain in this field.”

Other notable players receiving a payout include Baibhab Sarangi aka ‘shovefish’ (9th), Rubin Labroo aka ‘kornkid’ (15th), ‘gareeeeb’ (21), Vivek Bajaj aka ‘Kill Ivey’ (22nd) and so on.
