After the spectacular end to the 2019 Aussie Millions, where Indian players made some deep runs and gave the Aussies tough competition throughout. Bryn Kenney won the ME this time, but India’s first WSOP bracelet winner Aditya Sushant played well and ended 87th in the Main Event.
Another acclaimed Indian Vinod Megalmani also ran deep in the Terminator event, finishing 5th for nearly INR 10 Lakhs, beating a field of 489 entries minus 4. Both Sushant and Megalmani, along with 2019 APT Vietnam ME winner Abhinav Iyer, decided to extend their trip in Australia and ran in Star Sydney’s daily tournaments.
Sushant played in the Weekly Wednesday event on 14th February, i.e. yesterday, and topped the field of 136 players and shipped the tourney for AUD 11,423 (~INR 5.79 Lakhs) out of the created prize pool of AUD 40,800.
The top 15 players were paid out in the tournament for a min-cash of AUD 689. Sushant later commented on this victory, saying, “I was only in Sydney for a day and had this tourney in mind when I went there. Felt good to win one on last day of our Oz trip.”
FT Pay-outs for Weekly Wednesday:
Before the trio headed to Syndey, they were in Crown Casino Melbourne, where Megalmani and Iyer signed up for the AUD 150 Monday MegaStack that pulled 58 entries. Funny enough, both were pitted against each other in heads-up but Megalmani took the title later and won the first-place cash prize of AUD 2,295 (~INR 1.16 Lakhs) and Iyer earned AUD 1,460 (~INR 74k).
