9stacks sends 15 players to 2019 Aussie Millions


The Aussie Millions is an annual poker tournament series that takes place at the Crown Melbourne every year in January-February. It’s the biggest live poker series to take place in Australia each year and players from all over the world fly down here to kick off their poker quests each year.

Now 9stacks is one Indian company that is determined to send a whole lot of Indian players to play at international locations, with a few of their players also doing well at the recent WSOP 2018 in Las Vegas. Now, they’ve launched the Aussie100 contest on their website, where, as the name suggests, 100 Indian players will be gifted packages to the 2019 Aussie Millions.

Aussie100 is a milestone-based cash grind with a series of tournament boosters spread across 3 months, between 13th October and 16th December 2018. The first segment of the promotion is done, and 15 players won package trip to Melbourne, Australia, to play poker in the upcoming Aussie Millions in January.

The qualifications happened via a cash grind as well as winning tournaments on 9stacks, and this promotion will continue over the next couple of months as 85 more players are yet to become winners. The first tournament called Aussie100 #1 took place on 21st October 2018, where at a buy in of INR 5,500, players had to compete to reach the top 15, to win the Australia packages worth INR 2 lakh each.

In all, the tournament saw 145 participants with 64 re-buys and the tournament came to an end when we reached the final 15 players. Quite a few known names were a part of the winners including:

  2. ‘Werewolf’ – Sanjay Taneja
  3. ‘MuckYou’ – Sajal Gupta
  4. ‘loading…’ – Phanindra Akkina
  5. ‘Buddha’ – Amar N Mehta
  6. ‘AnuragSrivastava’ – Anurag Srivastav
  7. ‘Once’ – Akshay Pathak
  8. ‘Darknight’ – Manoj Pentakota
  9. ‘Pokerchess’ – Durga Deepak Botta
  10. ‘thekid’ – Manish Lakhotia
  11. ‘inquiry’ – Anuj Kumar Kodam
  12. ‘lazyman’ – Ayush Garg
  13. ‘maidumji’ – Chandni Malik
  14. ‘noobpro’ – Bhavye Mittal
  15. ‘herohindustani’ – Vikas Agarwal

Among these winners was Chandni Malik aka ‘maidumji’, who is an amateur online poker player who began playing online poker on 9stacks and has over the past one year worked on her game extensively to become a good, bankable player. She is the first woman player on 9stacks to ever qualify for a contest of this kind.
