Poker player Mike Postle breaks silence on cheating allegations

The Poker industry had been waiting to know about their favourite player who was accused for cheating multiple players. Mike Postle was alleged to have cheated on several players at the Stones Gambling Hall poker tables throughout 2019. He broke his silence on the issue with a text and confirmed that he would tell his side of the story in a forthcoming documentary.

In June, a judge in Sacramento dismissed the case against Postle without prejudice on the grounds that gambling disputes were “not cognizable under California law.” A settlement has been issued for the case filed against Mike Postle, Stones gambling Hall and Justin Kuraitis. Postle told, “It’s a story that won’t just shock the poker and gambling industries, but the entire world. As much as I’d like to say, all I can really say right now is that I have my side of this entire fiasco to tell.”

The allegations were such that Postle was receiving information about his opponents cards from an unnamed accomplice who must have had access to the back end of the radio frequency identification (RFID) system that reads players’ cards for broadcast purposes. Apparently, the information was relayed by phone, which Postle hid under the poker table and at regular intervals peaked at during hands, and via a communications device embedded in his baseball cap.

The time period when the low stakes grinder was unbelievably winning, he was only playing in the live stream. While we are aware that Postle has now been declared innocent, the case was looked into by analyzing hours of online footage, viewing hands, and discussing the statistical implausibility of Postle’s extraordinary win rates. Many believed, the way Postle performed at the cash games on the Stones Live Poker feed was almost as though he could see his opponents’ cards. Poker player Doug Polk took to social media to express his feelings about the case.

While the case has been dismissed, Postle spoke about how this goes beyond his innocence but about his presence in the industry since 17 years. For more updates about the Mike Postle case, keep reading GutshotMagazine.com.
