Poker Dictionary – Turkish Pocket Aces


Players, it is time to get a few poker lessons. Let’s read about a poker hand called Turkish Pocket Aces. A pair of eights is known as Turkish Pocket Aces. Just like a pair of eights, there are other hands as well, namely pocket kings, pocket queens, pocket jacks and ace-king. Turkish pocket asces is not the best among all the other hands but has a lot of references to popular culture

Turkish Pocket Aces are also known as Time travel and Piano Keys. Time travel because in the 80s film titled ‘Back To The Future,’ Marty’s Delorean time machine travelled at a speed of 88 mph. Turkish Pocket Aces is also known as Piano Keys because there are 88 keys on a piano. Yes, these names are real.

If players are dealt with pocket eights, they should first analyze the opponent’s move. If a player chooses to bet, raise or re-raise, there are chances they may have pocket aces or other better hands. For example, a player who has pocket aces, never chooses to limp. Ideally, a player with pocket aces would go heads up on the flop. Limping in at the early stage of a game could end up putting the player in a difficult situation, but with Turkish Pocket Aces one might have to do just that. 

In general, a player shouldn’t keep betting and raising. Players with Turkish Pocket Aces could choose to slowplay and understand the opponents moves. One must try to knock out as many players as possible because the lesser the opponents the better it is. Usually, players should allow sometime when they bet on the flop. When people raise on the preflop and immediately place huge bets, there are chances that the opponents could understand your moves. Therefore, take time and act slowly.
