Every poker player comes to the poker table and showcases his own individual and unique style of gameplay, which makes the game even more interesting and challenging. 

The more players on a poker table, the more playing styles you get to witness. However, there are certain poker styles that are common and likely to be used by several players depending on their understanding and experience of the poker game. In this article, we will discuss one of the commonly adopted styles—the balanced style.

What’s a balanced style in poker?

A balanced style is a style of avoiding exploitable or predictable patterns. It involves using different strategies or indulging in different types of action in similar situations.

Example of a balanced style:

For example, if a player always plays aggressively with a strong hand and folds weaker hands, after a point of time he/she becomes predictable. It becomes easier for the opponents to read the player’s game.

On the other hand, if the player uses a balanced style by checking, betting small, betting half the pot, betting the whole pot depending on the situation, it can act to the benefit of the player and thus increase his chances of winning.
