Poker Dictionary – Acepots

Acepots? What is that?

The term Acepots in poker comes from a type of high draw poker where a player can’t open the pot without at least having a pair of aces or better. Draw poker games are types of games where players have to improve their hand by discarding some of their cards and gaining new cards from the dealer. This usually happens with betting rounds before and after the draw. Interestingly, for over 100 years, the Five Card Draw poker game was considered a classic game. There are also various other types of Draw games like Ace-To-Six Lowball, 5 Card Double Draw High-Low, 7 Card Open Draw, etc.
