Nishant Sharma leads the final table of BPT Main Event


The thrill of the 2020 edition of Baazi Poker Tour (BPT) continues, hosting the much-awaited INR 35k Main Event. The Gaon waters have welcomed the prominent faces in the industry, taking their seats to grab the advertised guarantee of INR 2 Crore!

Yesterday, the casino floor was jam-packed with poker aficionados as Day 2 of the Main Event concluded forming the final 9 players who will be advancing to the ultimate battle. The entire five-day-long tournament registered 609 entries across the four starting flights. Phanindra Akkina began the day, leading 104 survivors after building up a towering stack of 501,000. Before the completion of the day, the top 63 places were ensured a min-cash of INR 70,100 and the bubble boy was Uday Moola who unfortunately busted in 64th place.

After hours of the grinding session, the field whittled down and at the end of the day, it was Day 1D chip head Nishant Sharma amassing an incredible stack of 3,650,000. Sitting at 15th in India’s All-Time money list, the poker pro, Sharma, is a tough competitor. Recorded to have made final tables in 10k Kick-Off, finishing 6th and 7th in the Big Bounty. The chip leader also finished 3rd in the previous edition of BPT PLO.

The CEO of PokerBaazi and 100k High Roller champion Navkiran Singh was second in chip lead accumulating 2,730,000, followed by Ayush Garg bagging 2,570,000 chips. Other contenders to walk towards the pay desk on Day 2 were Himashu Diwan (11th, INR 2.80 Lakhs), Day 1A chip leader Akkina (13th, INR 2.32 Lakhs), Sagar Patnaik (18th, INR 2 Lakhs), Kanchan Sharma (19th, INR 1.68 Lakhs), Anant Purohit (23rd, INR 1.50 Lakhs), WSOP bracelet winner Aditya Sushant (29th, INR 1.16 Lakhs), Day 1C chip leader Zarvan Tumboli (31st, INR 1.16 Lakhs), Jayjit Ray (42nd, INR 1.02 Lakhs) and so on.

  3. Ayush Garg – 2,570,000
  4. Vishrut Jain – 1,810,000
  5. Jai Saha – 1,750,000

  9. Himanshu Dewan – 1,295,000

The final 9 will grab their hot seat today, 14th January at 2 pm local time, with each one aiming to seize the top prize of INR 43.21 Lakhs.
