Neeraj Kumar wins MG Hector on IOPC Leaderboard!

Yesterday, we had a fantastic finish to the India Online Poker Championship (IOPC) on Spartan Poker, with a number of winners being crowned including the IOPC Millionaire champion, turning out to be the 20-year old Srihari Bang from Bangalore, becoming richer by INR 48.56 Lakh and becoming the biggest online poker winner in the country.

Along with tournaments announcing their champions, the IOPC Leaderboard also declared its champion in Neeraj Kumar aka ‘Jannat52’ and we haven’t seen a more deserving winner yet. He grinded right through the IOPC series between 14-28 July and managed to keep the lead through most of the series, also leading at the halfway mark.

Interestingly, Kumar didn’t win a single title in the entire series and that goes to show how good he was and how he managed to bring in consistent performances throughout this prestigious series. Leaderboards often are the best test of the skill of a poker player and Kumar has proved that he is among the best in the business at the moment.

A total of INR 30 Lakh was reserved by Spartan Poker for the IOPC Leaderboard winners and Kumar takes away the biggest prize of all, being rewarded a swanky new MG Hector car, with the brand barely having made its way to India a couple of months ago. The rest of the top 10 on the IOPC Leaderboard will take away cash prizes including INR 3.5 Lakh to ‘Immortal killerr’ who finished second after winning three titles during the series. Kumar finished with 8,281 leaderboard points while Immortal killerr ended with 7,781 points.

Talking to Gutshot after this victory, Kumar said, “I’m really happy to grind my way to win the IOPC Leaderboard without winning a single title in the series. I would like to take a moment to thank my friend and coach, Akshay NASA for the support and motivation he has provided in my poker journey till now. Congratulations to Spartan Poker for hosting another successful and bigger IOPC series. I’m now looking forward to the India Poker Championship in Goa. Cheers!”
