Esports Entertainment Group has entered into a partnership with National Basketball Association (NBA) franchise Cleveland Cavaliers. The partnership is a multi-year partnership said to yield several benefits for the NBA franchise.
As per the deal Esports Entertainment will serve as the official esports tournament platform provider for Cleveland Cavaliers. Esports Entertainment will also host three co-branded esports tournaments every year for the NBA team using its platform of Esports Gaming League (EGL).
The esports company will also help with the team’s digital marketing strategies. The marketing efforts will cover all social, email, mobile and online channels to help endorse the co-branded tournaments. The news of the partnership was shared by Cleveland Cavaliers on their official Twitter handle. It was also re-tweeted by Esports Entertainment group on their official handle.

The deal also includes the display of courtside LED signage at all Cavaliers regular season home games during the 2021-22 season. It also allows Esports Entertainment to be the presenting partner of the Cavaliers for one esports themed night every season until the partnership lasts.
Additionally, Esports Entertainment will be the team’s esports affiliate at the Cavs Legion GC NBA 2K League. The physical jerseys of the players will feature the Esports Entertainment brand and the brand will be promoted virtually during the games.

Talking about the deal, Esports Entertainment’s chief executive, Grant Johnson said, “We are delighted to announce the Cavs as our first NBA team partnership; our robust tournament platform will help the Cavs strengthen connections with their fans, while providing new avenues for engagement.”
