MS Dhoni Stars in PokerStars India’s Latest ‘I’m In’ Campaign

Throughout his cricket journey, Mahendra Singh Dhoni has donned several roles for Team India with his illustrious career. Three ICC trophies in ICC tournaments, India’s most successful captain joined hands with the leading poker website PokerStars India in early April and with millions of followers on social media, his endorsement with the company has already strengthened the Indian online poker market.

Marking his ambassadorship with the brand, Dhoni starred in their latest campaign, ‘I’m In’. Online poker like any game of skill requires strategy and prowess. These three films show MSD playing poker with people from different backgrounds. The three unique characters portrayed in the video are competitive in nature while Dhoni on the other hand loses against each of them showing how the game can be really competitive.

In one of the videos, Dhoni is seen playing against a “crazy mathematician”, in the second video, 73-year-old Usha Sampat, a jogging marathon champion beats the captain on PokerStars India’s mobile application. In the final video, Bansilal Tiwari, a weight lifting champ and a fruit seller also knocks out the famous personality, meaning the sports attract people from all walks of life who who are always willing to challenge one another.

After becoming the brand ambassador, the 39-year-old said, “Online Poker like any game of skill requires one to be strategic and play responsibly. Slowly but surely it is being recognized as a sport that is fun and quick to learn but rich in its complexity. With this collaboration we hope to take online Poker to a larger audience.” He also added that the thrill, excitement and pressure and some parallels he could draw between poker and cricket.
