Mobile gaming platform, Mobile Premier League (MPL) recently donated ₹5 Crore to #InThisTogether initiative started by Indian cricket captain, Virat Kohli and his actress-producer wife Anushka Sharma. The duo started the campaign in partnership with crowd-funding platform Ketto. The aim of the campaign is to raise funds to help India fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.
The duo had launched the initiative named #InThisTogether in partnership with Ketto on May 7th on their social media handles. They shared a video urging fans to support them in their initiative to aid those in need. The campaign had raised Rs 3.60 crore in a single day including ₹2 crore contributed by the husband-wife duo. They have successfully raised close to ₹11.5 crore so far.
One of India’s largest mobile gaming platforms, MPL donated a huge chunk to support the duo in their initiative. The company made a contribution of ₹5 Crore to the cause. The news of MPL’s donation was shared by both, Kohli and Sharma on their respective Twitter handles.

The initiative was launched with the aim of raising ₹7 crore, but the initiative received a thundering response from all quarters of the society. MPL’s donation took the total funds raised to ₹11,38,94,843. Apart from MPL’s ₹5 crore and Virat-Anushka’s ₹2 crore, the 5 highest donations include Kajaria Ceramics donating ₹25 lakh, Grand Maratha Foundation donating ₹15 lakh and ₹10 lakh from Shyam Steel. The campaign has received a total 20,180 donations so far.
The funds raised through this campaign will be donated to ACT Grants, who are actively focused on resolving the oxygen shortage in the country due to the COVID-19 pandemic. ACT Grants is deploying oxygen concentrators and oxygen plants in the hospitals all over the country. They are also looking at strengthening the medical infrastructure in the country to overcome the COVID-19 crisis.
MPL is one of India’s largest mobile gaming platforms that offers games like ludo, rummy, fantasy cricket, fantasy football and fantasy kabaddi among many others. Virat Kohli is an investor as well as the current brand ambassador of MPL.
