Monday Roundup: Vishal Yadav, ‘Sadhu16’ Among Other Winners Who Clinched Top Titles


As the India Online Poker Championship (IOPC) July 2021 continues in all its glory on Spartan Poker, BlitzPoker and Poker High, it’s refreshing to see some intense gameplay on other online poker platforms. Online poker felts of Adda52, PokerBaazi and PokerStars continued to buzz with high-value tournaments on a Monday night. Here’s a quick look at some of the big tourney’s of the night.

The Big Show – ₹7.5 Lakh

PokerBaazi’s staple The Big Show was as usual a starry affair. The ₹7.5 Lakh guarantee was crushed as the final prize pool stood at ₹8.65 Lakh. The tournament attracted 346 entries to its virtual felts and the top 45 places were paid a min-cash of ₹4,844.

The tournament was shipped by Vishal Yadav aka ‘vishal0701,’ who cashed ₹1.82 Lakh in prize money. At the second spot was ‘Sunnyahuja’ who walked away with ₹1.27 Lakh. Debneil Mukherjee aka ‘ChhotaDon’ walked away with the highest five-figure prize of ₹81,740.

Players like Kritagya Sharma (4th, ₹60,550), Nitin Arora (5th, ₹45,410), Megastack winner, Manish Lakhotia (13th, ₹10,810), IOPC #41 Saturday Spotlight winner, Mohd Zeeshan (19th, ₹8,131), Aman Parakh (22nd, ₹7,266), Godfather winner, Sahil Mahboobani (32nd, ₹5,622), Sanat Mehrotra (34th, ₹5,622), Sagar Choudhury (37th, ₹4,844), Adda52 Game Ambassador, Kunal Patni (38th, ₹4,844), IOPC #19 Monsterstack winner, Adtiya Singh (40th, ₹4,844) and Destiny winner, Ashish Kumar (42nd, ₹4,844) made it to the top 45 places paid.

Anirban Das (68th), Ram Kakkar (71st), IOPC #54 winner, Rajneesh Thakur (75th) and Gutshot’s January 2021 e-magazine cover star, Gaurav Sood (131st) left the table empty handed.

PokerStars Battle Royale – ₹5 Lakh GTD

Battle Royale on PokerStars offered ₹5 Lakh in guarantee. The tourney was indeed a fierce battle right till the end. The ₹2750 buy-in tourney attracted 169 entries. A min-cash of ₹5,329 was paid to the top 17 places.

Anonymous players ‘Sahni1509’ and ‘prabhat64’ made a deal after close to seven hours of grinding. The two players cashed ₹51,946 and ₹51,945 respectively. The third spot saw ‘Amitabh009’ leave with ₹35,252 in prize money.

Parth Agarwal (4th, ₹27,368), and The Big Show, second runner-up Debneil Mukherjee (16th, ₹5,329), were the players who finished in the money. Night on Stars winner, Siddharth Gangwar was the bubble boy of this tournament.

IOPC #11 Monday Spotlight winner, Manish Lakhotia (22nd), Anirban Das (25th), Kunal Patni (27th), Armaan Kochhar (31st), Sagar Choudhury (39th) and IOPC #22 Wednesday Prime winner, Ranjeet Negi (52nd) were some players who made no money despite their efforts.

Iron Man – ₹8 Lakh

Adda52’s Monday staple Iron Man was an action-packed tournament with a prize pool of ₹5 Lakh. Out of the 337 entries, top 34 places were paid a min-cash of ₹5,600.

Anonymous player ‘sadhu16’ topped the table and took a pay cheque of ₹2,00,000. Pradip Ghosh aka ‘Nit2Donk’ finished at the runner-up spot for ₹1,21,200. Mithun aka ‘Aghoraa’ finished third for ₹88,000.

Some notable names who made it in the money were IOPC #47 Sunday spotlight runner-up, Harsh Bubna (4th, ₹66,800), Akshay Dhingra (8th, ₹20,000), IOPC #11 Monday Spotlight winner, Manish Lakhotia (10th, ₹12,000), Aman Parakh (14th, ₹8,800), Amit Kaushik (17th, ₹8,800), Gutshot e-magazine’s April 2021 cover  star, Siddharth Karia (20th, ₹7,600), Sagar Choudhury (23rd, ₹6,400), Sahil Mahboobani (27th, ₹6,400), and IOPC #19 Monsterstack winner, Adtiya Singh (32nd, ₹5,600).

IOPC Day 9

IOPC Day 9 was full of action, surprises and unexpected turns. IOPC United marquee tournament with ₹1.5 Crore in guarantee ended in a deal. Piyush Jain grabbed the lion’s share from the prize pool.
