Max Lehmanski leads at MCOP Main Event


One of the longest running series, the Master Classics of Poker (MCOP) is on-going at the Holland casino in Amsterdam for the 27th year in row. The series began on Nov 21 and will go on till Dec 1, a period of 11 days, with a staggering 46 action-packed events lined up.

The Main Event of this series saw its Day 2 yesterday. The event has a buy-in of EUR 4,300 and attracted a total playing field of 293 entries. Out of which, 36 will be coming back for Day 3 which begins today. Day 2 also saw 27 new entries to the Main Event, which finalized the prize pool to EUR 1,164,235 (~INR 9.25 Crores). Top 44 players will be paid out during this event.

The German high rollers Max Lehmanski is leading in chip count entering Day 3 of the Main Event with 696,000 chips. Others to follow are Kilian Kramer with 584,500 chips and Totti Arosuo at 560,000 chips. Last year’s MCOP Main Event winner Claas Segebrecht was seen in the run but got eliminated yesterday, along with the Dutch Hall of Famer Lex Veldhuis and Ari Engel.

American poker pro David Peters was among the new entrants on Day 2, but unfortunately didn’t survive. Lehmanski, the chip leader, has gathered a sizeable amount in this year. His most significant win of this year was $12,726 which he got after finishing 67th in 2018 MILLIONS Grand Final held at Barcelona in April. He also came 6th in the APPT Macau NLHE held in March.

Other significant players to enter Day 3 are the 2016 WPT Five Diamond NLH shipper Jan Eric Schwippert (290,000 chips) and the back-to-back partpoker LIVE MILLIONS UK winner Steve O’Dwyer (195,000 chips).
