The latest poker room showdown took place at the Kings Casino during the final stages of the Balkan Poker Circuit Main Event. A video footage uploaded to YouTube shows scenes of chaos as a group of men fought with fists, chairs, and anything else they could grab.
Eyewitness reports say security was on hand to break up the fight almost as soon as it started. Before they could stop the fight, players and chips were sent flying across the place. One man was seriously injured and the offender was arrested by the security.
An eye witness posted on an online forum saying “I was sitting at the next table (1 meter) away. As if out of nowhere, very suddenly within 2 seconds a player got up and hit his fist on another player’s head five times or more. Never seen something. Very aggressive. The blood is spattered all over the table. The victim fell over and the offender continued to hit him. The victim had a hole in his head.”
King’s Casino Rozvadov is one of the leading poker venues in the world. In addition to high-stakes cash games and tournaments, it’s been home of the World Series Of Poker (WSOP) Europe since 2017. Since the outbreak of Covid-19, the casino was forced to shut down its business for the safety of the people. Czech Republic finally opened the casinos during the month of June. With the low rate of coronavirus cases in the country, Kings Casino resumed their tournaments bringing joy to the poker fans in the country.
However, with money at stake, and alcohol often involved, there have been several violent outbursts in recent times. Last year a wild fistfight broke out at the Talking Stick Cardroom in Scottsdale, Another incident this year at the Chinook Winds Casino in Lincoln City almost descended into violence after a self-proclaimed Neo-Nazi launched a racist tirade at two black poker players. At the Orleans Casino, a poker player was reportedly knocked unconscious after insulting another man’s daughter. This resulted in yet another brawl.
