Kahle Burns wins second bracelet of WSOP Europe 2019

It has been a fantastic series so far for Australia’s Kahle Burns, at the 2019 World Series of Poker Europe. The series is being played out at the Kings Casino in Rozvadov and only a few days back, Burns took away all glory when he shipped the Platinum High Roller for a massive cash prize and his first WSOP bracelet.

Yesterday, he was in the news again as he took down Event #13: €2,500 Short Deck and bagged his second career gold bracelet, both coming in a span of less than a week. Only 15 bracelets are being awarded in this series and Burns has 2 of them already. In the Short Deck Event, he beat a field of 179 entries to win €101,843 in prize money.

Talking about his second win this series, Burns said, “This feels like one of those days where I’ve avoided all the coolers and all the post flop coolers. Obviously, I won a few all ins on the way, just ran super good, no complaints.” He beat the overnight chip leader Manig Loeser in heads-up of the event.

Event #12: €100,000 Diamond High Roller

€100k is massive for a buy-in and it’s understood that only the best in the world will be a part of such events. Here too, there were a number of known pros from across the world taking part, with players of 7 different nationalities on the final table at Kings Casino, including the very famous Phil Ivey, Hong Kong’s Danny Tang, Christoph Vogelsang, and others.

Eventually though, it was Malaysia’s Chin Wei Lim who shipped the event after beating Jean-Noel Thorel in heads-up for his maiden WSOP bracelet. He said, “It feels pretty weird. I am just used to losing, and losing, and losing. And then, I’m just pretty lucky on this trip. I can’t complain. The field was hard in the €250,000 and to be able to finish second, I really can’t complain, even though I didn’t win it, it gave me a good confidence boost.”
