Jaime Staples follows Gross and leaves PokerStars

After CardsChat brand ambassador and popular Twitch streamer Jeff Gross left the world’s leading poker brand, PokerStars, announcing his decision in a ‘goodbye’ video, another known poker pro and Twitch streamer Jaime Staples has also decided to part ways with PokerStars.

Staples was one of the first ambassadors of PokerStars and had jumped on the wagon in April 2015, under the ‘Friend of PokerStars’ title. The Canadian pro has a little less than 120k followers on Twitch and has gradually built himself to be a star on the site.

He made headlines recently when he participated in and won a high-stakes prop bet against Bill Perkins where he lost some weight and won $150k along with his brother Matt Staples, from Perkins.

Staples tweeted yesterday saying, “As of today my time with @PokerStars as an ambassador has come to a close. It has been the best years of my life! Thanks to everyone I worked alongside over the past four years. You made it really special.”

He even attached a video with the tweet explaining about his decision and bidding farewell to the worldwide poker giant. In the video he said, “I’ve been so lucky over the past four years. Being sponsored by PokerStars was my dream when I got into the game. My genuine peak of interest in this game was being able to do what I’ve been able to do these last few years. I’ll forever be grateful for that.

Staples mentioned that he will continue to promote the skill-based game in the same way he has done before under PokerStars. He also thanked all his friends and peers he has worked with during his long association with PokerStars. “You made the days awesome. It’s been such a pleasure working alongside you for the past four years,” he said.

About his plan of action going ahead, he said in the video, “As for the future for me, I’m really excited. It’s a little bit scary but at the same time, I know that if I continue to work hard, and I’m true to what I believe is going to make this game great, everything will work out in the long run.”
