Indian Player ‘Upswinger’ Clinches His First WSOP Circuit Ring!

Just when the World Series of Poker (WSOP) Winter Online Circuit was nearing its end, Indian poker player ‘Upswinger’ clinched the WSOPC #17 $1,050 GGMasters HR Freezeout NLH title on Natural8! ‘Upswinger’ walked away with a jaw-dropping figure of $219,808 (₹1.63 crore) in prize money, a WSOP Circuit ring, and a $10,000 LiveX Sponsorship from Natural8. The package includes a $10,000 Las Vegas Package in which there is a $2,500 travel expense and $7,500 buy-ins along with a six-month membership to LiveX Crew. 

The tournament finale witnessed a heads-up match between ‘Upswinger’ and Bulgarian player Lachezar Petkov aka ‘Psychedelica.’ In the end, it was ‘Upswinger’ that scored the win for $219,808 and walked away with the prestigious WSOP Circuit ring. Runner-up Petkov pocketed $165,660 for his second-place finish. ‘Upswinger’ battled a player field of over 1,716 entries to win the WSOPC #17 $1,050 GGMasters HR Freezeout NLH event.

‘Upswinger’ also followed the footsteps of fellow Indian poker player ‘lockstock’ who won the first WSOP Circuit ring at the Big 50 MILLION$. In the 2021 WSOP, ‘Upswinger’ finished in 3rd at the 2021 WSOP High Roller $10,300 for $132,335.

The GGMasters tournament was hosted on the GGPoker Network where the tournament’s prize pool reached $1,716,000. The top 287 players finished in the money while the average cash in the tournament stood at $5,979. Another Indian player who finished in the money was WSOP bracelet winner ‘Mandovi’ in 247th for $1,840. Michael Addamo, the four-time WSOP bracelet winner finished in the 287th position for $1,840.
