Grand Theft Auto 5 Soon To Exit Xbox Game Pass

Popular game—Grand Theft Auto (GTA) has gained immense popularity on Xbox Game Pass over the past few months. However, it seems like it won’t stay on the console longer.

The action-adventure game which was first launched in 2013, it gained a huge fanbase, and continues to be a favorite among gamers. The success of the game mainly came from its expansion of GTA Online. 

The game was re-released on PS4 and Xbox One consoles previously and was expected to release on PS5 and Xbox Series S/X this year. However, it has been available for all Xbox players on their consoles via Xbox Game Pass from April 2021. 

There was no certainty on how long the game would stay on Xbox Game Pass. And recent reports suggest that the game’s availability on the console may come to an end. GTA 5 may leave Xbox Game Pass by the end of July, 2021.

Though there was no official confirmation about the departure of the game by Xbox, the title GTA 5 appeared under the “Leaving Soon” tab of the Xbox Game Pass website. The date of the exit was also not specified or available on clicking on the title. It must be noted that information about other games listed was available.

The only way to guess the game’s last day is the notice at the top of the list that reads ‘these games exit the Xbox Game Pass library in the next two weeks.’ Though there are several other exciting games on the Xbox Game Pass, the absence of GTA 5 will certainly leave a void.

However, this is not the first time the game will depart. The game was initially made available on Xbox Game Pass in January 2020. Its latest title back then was Diamond Resort and Casino DLC. It remained available until May 2020 after which it was discontinued. It made a comeback in April this year.

It looks like this time, its availability was one month shorter than the last time. One of the advantages of these departing games is that they are made available at huge discounts. So players can buy GTA 5 on Xbox Game Pass now at a discounted rate.
