Grand Success For Inaugural IPC Awards

First edition of India Poker Championship Awards hosted by India’s leading poker gaming portal, The Spartan Poker, witnessed a grand success in Bangalore today. The first of its kind poker award ceremony was held at Sheraton Grand in the Garden City on Saturday, 9th September 2017. Recognizing excellence in the Poker industry, The Spartan Poker felicitated 72 poker players across 6 different categories in the presence of eminent Bollywood actor Emraan Hashmi and popular standup comic Naveen Richards.

The awards were distributed among The Millionaires, Spartan Super Series winners, India Online Poker Championship (IOPC) January and July edition. The Awards were given based on the players’ winning participation in various tournaments; Emraan Hashmi and the Directors of TheSpartanPoker Amin Rozani and Peter Abraham from the poker industry also felicitated the winners the function.

Expressing his excitement on the success of the first edition of the IPC Awards, Amin Rozani, MD & Co-founder, The Spartan Poker said, “Hosting the India Poker Championship Awards was truly an exciting experience for us. It feels great to see the poker industry together and under one roof.

The idea behind the IPC awards was to felicitate the amazing talents and contribution of poker players. Expressing his views on the association, Actor Emraan Hashmi said, “I am truly honored to be here at the first edition of the India Poker Championship Awards and among these talented poker players and this industry’s veterans like Amin Rozani, Peter Abraham, Rajeev Kanjani and Sameer Rattonsey. Speaking to the January Millionaire 2017 Gaurav ‘NuttieGuttie’ Jain said, “It was a great experience during the IPC awards event. TheSpartanPoker is a true trend-setter and for the first time in India something like this happened and I feel privileged to be a part of such event.

It was so properly and lavishly managed and spartan actually made the players feel like celebs. I would like to thank you to Amin Rozani, Rajeev Kanjani, Peter Abraham, Sameer Rattonsey and the complete Spartan Team for such state of an art life time experience to us.”

IOPC Super HighRoller winner Sumit ‘boronyx’ Sapra, said, “The set up was great and I had a lot of fun meeting and interacting with some of the best poker minds in India. I did not really get to see any of the performances so can’t say much about that.”

Latest Two of a Kind winner Sandeep ‘miniflus10’ Narayanan shared his experience said, “Totally overwhelmed with the hospitality right from when I stepped out of the airport where we were met with garlands and roses till the check-in at Sheraton where I was received with much pomp. Room set up was nice and was met with a customized suit laid out on the bed for us to wear for the ceremony.

It was a glitzy affair with the stage set up for the awards and the function was a big hit. Feel privileged to be awarded the trophy and thanks spartan for the invite..they nailed it. The performance which I liked best was the stand up comedy by Naveen followed by Zehns performance. Suggestion to maybe have an ice breaker type short session prior to the awards for the players to meet and greet. Since we know only online names and wouldn’t recognize each other face to face.”

December Millionaire Mayank ‘alwayslimpaa’ Jaggi shared, “India Poker Championship Awards was a great experience. The entire ceremony was nicely setup. Felt like a film award ceremony. The theme was great and suited the occasion. Overall it was a lovely experience.”
