Gokul Raj takes down Adda52 Godfather

Adda52’s INR 20 Lakhs GTD Godfather is the feature tournament of Thursday. The series is in its 6^th edition now and has become quite popular since the time it was launched and it attracts a large playing field and almost always breaks the prize pool.

Yesterday’s Adda52 Godfather saw a total of 428 entries (188 re-entries). The field collectively crushed the guarantee and created a new prize pool of INR 21,40,000 for a buy-in of INR 5,500. Top 43 places were being paid for a minimum cash prize of INR 11,770. The player to emerge as the champion yesterday and who took home the 1^st place cash prize of INR 5,30,720 was the well-known online grinder Gokul Raj aka ‘gokoolered.

Raj beat another regular Sriharsha Doddapaneni aka ‘Ivey2’ in heads-up, who had to settle for the runner-up cash prize of INR 3,21,000. Doddapaneni is also a very accomplished player online and among his recent wins include shipping the Whale 6-Max on Adda52 for upwards of INR 4.1 Lakhs.

Raj, the winner, beat this very strong field on Adda52 to ship the title yesterday after gruesome poker action of almost 8 hours. He is also an AceJack stable player and has many titles to his name in the past, one of which is the recent Adda52 Mega Suits INR 30 Lakhs GTD for upwards of INR 8.6 Lakhs, making it his biggest online earnings to date. He also shipped Spartan’s Mega Freeze last month and finished victorious in one of the IOPC events held in July this year.

2018 WPT India ME runner-up Sahil Mahaboobani aka ‘ImHighIshove’ (6^th – INR 74,900), Gayle Storm 4.0 winner Ritam Bhattacharya aka ‘RitamB’ (7^th – INR 58,850) and first Indian WSOP bracelet winner Aditya Sushant aka ‘A_Sushant’ (9^th – INR 34,240) were also ranked in the money.

Other regulars included Shravan Chhabria aka ‘sweatmyass13’ (12^th – INR 26,750), Goonjan Mall aka ‘gmtesting’ (15^th – INR 21,400), Abhinav Iyer aka ‘checkshove’ (19^th – INR 18,190), Anant Purohit aka ‘Pro_baba’ (24^th – INR 16,050), Deepak Singh aka ‘Peacelover’ (32^nd – INR 13,910) and Arjanveer Chadha aka ‘arjan30’ (43^rd – INR 11,770).
