See How Muskan Sethi Busted From the WSOP 2022 Main Event

The Main Event of the World Series of Poker (WSOP) 2022 has proven to be quite a good one for the Indian contingent, as many of them managed to run pretty deep. 10 players progressed to Day 3, out of which the only female to progress was pro Muskan Sethi

However, her tournament life was cut short on Day 3, after she busted at the 1966th place, over 600 places short of the payouts. Sethi resumed Day 3 with a stack of 131,000 chips (53BB) at her disposal.

The Main Event recorded its second-largest entry field of 8,663 players across six starting flights. With a prize pool of $80,782,475, this $10,000 buy-in event paid out the top 1,300 players a min-cash of $15,000. Currently, the Main Event is underway, with Day 4 ending earlier today. The event has an impressive prize of $10,000,000 up top, while $6,000,000 and $4,000,000 for the runner-up and second runner-up.

Muskan Sethi’s Bustout hand:

The female pro shared her progress throughout the tournament along with her bustout hand on Twitter. Have a look at her bustout hand:

Sethi was eventually down to 5BB when she pushed her stack onto the table from the cutoff preflop. In a three-handed play, the player from the small blind re-jammed by pushing his 25BB. The big blind tanked for a while before calling the bets.

Sethi flipped an A Q , while the small bind showed A8 and the big blind revealed A9. Even though the hole cards had Sethi in the lead, the dealer fanned out an 8,9,7 on the board, putting the female pro in a losing spot. The K, 8 on turn and river did no good, thus ending Sethi’s run in the tournament. She had mistakenly mentioned that she was in the hijack position in the original tweet, however, later she rectified it, by replying on the thread saying, “Sorry CO* not HJ 🥸”

Sethi is one of the most well-known female pros in the Indian poker circuit. She is a regular at the WSOP and has 13 cashes at the annual series so far, the highest being her 39th place finish at the $1,500 No-Limit Hold’Em event at the 2017 WSOP 2017, where she pocketed $8,286. Sethi has already cashed at four events at the ongoing edition of the series. According to Hendon Mob, the Delhi girl has $111,786 in international live tournament earnings. Her eighth-place finish at the £1,000 + 100 No-Limit Hold’Em – Main Event of Grosvenor UK Poker Tour London for $13,107 is her highest cash so far.

Two days ago, she also shared her progress to Day 3 on Twitter:

Out of the 10 Indians that made it to Day 3, only five of them qualified for Day 4, thus making it in the money in the Main Event. Sethi was one of the players who couldn’t progress to Day 4, leaving the tournament empty-handed. Nonetheless, she finished 1,966th out of the 8,663 players, which is quite a good run in the Main Event. GG, Sethi! Long way to go! 👍
