Opera Launches First Ever Mobile Gaming Browser Opera GX Mobile

Multi-platform web browser Opera recently launched the world’s first ever mobile gaming-specific browser called Opera GX Mobile. The mobile browser is an extension of the desktop version of the gaming browser. Currently, the beta version of the new mobile browser is available on iOS and Android. It will be available to a larger audience soon.

The mobile browser will have a special segment called GX corner. This GX corner will provide the latest gaming news and updates to the users. The corner will also feature deal aggregator links that will showcase the latest deals or sale on games.

The design and interface of the browser is flawless and vibrant. It is reportedly inspired by gaming gear and the likes. Users get to choose from four themes GX Classic, Ultra Violet, Purple Haze and White Wolf.

For a better navigation experience, the browser will offer an option to choose between standard navigation or Fast Action Button (FAB).This is easily accessible on the screen and makes use of vibrations and haptic feedback when interacting with elements in the button. The FAB contains two rows, the top row has the tabs, while the bottom row has the menu enabling search, opening and closing of tabs. 

Additionally, the mobile browser comes with a Flow feature, enabling users to sync the mobile browser with the web version by scanning a QR code. Flow has an encrypted chat-like space that allows users to send files, links, YouTube videos, photos, personal notes and more for better accessibility. It currently limits sharing files up to 10MB. Gaming enthusiasts can also share tutorials, walkthroughs and character builds between different devices. 

For better browsing experience Opera has embedded built-in ad blocker and cookie dialog blocker in the browser to block unnecessary cookie dialogs. The browser will also provide protection from those trying to use their devices to mine cryptocurrencies.

The web version of the browser, Opera GX, was launched in June 2019. Since then it has been witnessing 190% growth year-over-year. It is currently the largest tech server on Discord with 2,85,000 members.
