Bollywood Celebs Flaunting Their PS5 Is Making Indian Gamers Fume

The unavailability of PS5 has been bothering Indian gamers for a few months now.  Recently, bollywood actor Boman Irani recently shared a picture of himself with his new PlayStation 5 (PS5). The actor tagged retailer, Games The Shop, that helped the actor purchase the newest console. Similarly, when the PS5 had just launched in February this year, actress Shruti Haasan had shared a similar picture showing-off her purchase from the same retailer.

However, this did not go down well with the gamers in India. The gamers have been questioning retailers as to why the gaming console is not available for the common people. PS5 has been unavailable in the Indian markets ever since it first launched in February.

The Indian gaming community has been upset over the issue of PS5’s unavailability. Since Sony showed no signs of re-stocking it ;left the Indian gamers disappointed. Indian gamers even started an online petition to Sony for re-stocking of the console. Recently, news came to light that Sony will begin the pre-orders for the PS5.

Games The Shop is a private Mumbai-based retailer. It is similar to America’s GameStop. The retail business is held by its parent company E-xpress, which is the largest game distributor in India and has a virtual monopoly in the market.

An employee at Games The Shop, who reportedly helped these celebrities get their consoles, told buyers that the celebrities purchased their consoles from their website. However, when IGN India verified the claims, it was found that the site had gone down just minutes before pre-orders of PS5 went live.
