Battlegrounds Mobile India Officially Launched


The wait for Battlegrounds Mobile India is finally over. The developer, Krafton shared the news on its social media handles that the game has officially launched on July 2nd, 2021.

Krafton had started pre-registrations for the much awaited game around mid-May. After receiving over 20 million pre-registrations in just two weeks, the developer launched the early access version of the game on June 17th, 2021. 

Changhan Kim, CEO, Krafton said, “I am very happy to introduce Battleground Mobile India to Indian users.”

Currently, the game is only available on Android devices. iOS users may have to wait a little longer. The South Korean developer also extended the ‘India ka Battlegrounds’ gifts and rewards for the players until August 19th, 2021.

Players who had earlier downloaded the early access can simply update the app from Play Store, now that the game has been released officially. Talking about the security, the developer stated in a blog post, “For the safe delivery service of Battlegrounds Mobile India, Krafton has raised personal information protection and information security regulations to the highest level in the industry and has also strengthened its policy to strictly comply with personal information protection laws and software-related laws.”

The previous version of the game PUBG Mobile was banned in September last year due to national security concerns. However, the popularity of the game among Indians made the developer re-launch the game in India. The developer launched a variant of the original PUBG under the name Battlegrounds Mobile India. 

The blogpost by the developer also stated, “Krafton plans to do its best to foster the esports ecosystem in India by organizing various game competitions and leagues, starting with the launch of ‘Battleground Mobile India’ for Indian users who have responded favorably to PUBG IP.”
