The Battlefield video game franchise is highly popular among players of the first-person shooter (FPS) genre. While there have been talks of the sequel to the franchise, there has been no official announcement made by its developers, Electronic Arts (EA). However, many speculate that Battlefield 6 will soon be available on Xbox Game Pass.
The rumours started when co-founder Shpeshal Ed hinted that ‘a third party, triple-A, FPS’ would soon be launched on Xbox Game Pass later in the year. This statement falls in line with the rumoured release date of Battlefield 6 which is somewhere during fall 2021. Two major FPS franchise releases slated for fall are Call of Duty and Battlefield, it is likely that this is the case.

The rumours are also supported by the fact that EA recently signed a partnership deal with Microsoft for an EA Play on Xbox Game Pass. Some reports have also indicated that the highly anticipated game will be unveiled in May. During a livestream, Jeff Grubb of GamesBeat commented, “Things are still fluid. They haven’t announced anything publicly yet. But my understanding is that they’re probably looking at May.”
Many gamers are on the edge of the seat with anticipation as details about Battlefield 6 were making the rounds. Reportedly the game will feature an advanced level of destruction where every building in the game’s maps could be destroyed to some degree. The EA even referred to the new feature as a ‘levolution,’ which is a call back to Battlefield 4. The game is expected to be released on PC, Playstation 4, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One.
