Developers InnerSloth have released a brand-new update on Among Us, one of their most popular video games. The new update promises players new features like a new meeting screen, new colours, enhanced art style and will have various bug fixes and improvements as well. The developers have mentioned that it will still take some time to fix all the reported bugs, but they will eventually do so in future updates.
The surge in popularity of the game last year prompted the developers to continue to improve upon the existing game instead of working on a sequel to it, as they had initially planned. Just last month, the game had a new map called Airstrip added to it which is its biggest one yet.

The announcement was made via a blog post on the game’s website. Bugs like ‘Pink Blobs’ where Android and Chrome users reported that their crewmate sprites were appearing as pink rectangles. Some other bug fixes also include the re-addition of the ping counter, text and font issues, and authentication issues during login. Players now have the option to change their names in the account menu and change their chat options in settings.
An exciting feature that came with the new update, was the addition of six new colours for the crewmates. This means that players will now have a wider variety of colours to represent their avatars in the game. “Considering all the colours we already have, it was actually kind of difficult to find colours that will automatically be visually distinct from all the other ones. But in terms of accessibility and colour blindness, we hope to move away from colours being the defining way people identify each other,” InnerSloth explained.
Another update that will not disappoint players is that the game now has increased its lobby size to fit 15 players in total. With Among Us, the phrase, ‘The more the merrier,’ rings absolutely true and this update is bound to double the fun. The popularity of Among Us during 2020 lockdown was a direct result of the lack of social interaction among people. The game’s social aspect and simple concept was the primary reason for attraction.
