Stars Group launch online betting website in New Jersey

Sports betting flourishes in New Jersey as one of the world’s largest online gambling companies have launched an online betting website in New Jersey – 888sport.com. The Stars Group are the latest to do so in this rapidly growing market following 888 Holdings’ launch on Monday.

The Stars Group, a provider of technology-based product offerings in the global gaming and interactive entertainment industries, announced today that it launched its BetStars online sports betting brand in the regulated New Jersey online gaming market, through its partnership with Resorts Casino Hotel. Its brands have millions of registered customers globally and collectively are leaders in online and mobile betting, poker, casino and other gaming-related offerings.

BetStars is initially available through mobile and provides its customers a sound and innovative mobile led sportsbook along with access to its poker and casino offerings under PokerStarsNJ and PokerStarsCasinoNJ. Since July, when online betting was legalised in New Jersey, gamblers have plunked down more than $152 million on sporting events.

Operating on The Star Group’s proprietary technology and player account management platform, BetStars provides its customers in New Jersey with a single account, common wallet, various online and mobile depositing and withdrawal options and an unblemished gaming experience along with access to its casino and poker portals.

New Jersey saw a rush of applications and approvals from companies in hope of getting their mobile sports betting apps approved and up and running before football season started. Out of the $95 million wagered by gamblers in the month of August, most was out of football. The total sum wagered by gamblers in August was more than the double of what was wagered in the first month of its legalisation in July ($40.6 m).

As part of its launch BetStars will offer a series of unique player focused promotions aimed at introducing new customers to BetStars, including a sign-up bonus and “odds boosts”, which multiply the odds and the potential pay-out to customers.
