WATCH: Gagandeep Malik Winning Moment at WPT India 2023 HR

Two days and we’ve witnessed two major tournaments coming to an end at the World Poker Tour Prime India 2023 series. Yesterday, the Main Event came to an end with Prasit Chowdhury beat Amit Tejura in heads-up and you can check out that emotional winning moment here. Today, it was the time for the high rollers!

Gagandeep Malik enjoyed a great run through the tournament and while he wasn’t chip leader on any previous days or at the start of the final table, he was zoned in and determined to walk away with a WPT title. And that’s what he did after beating Guneet Kwatra in heads-up and taking home the trophy and some massive cash winnings as well.

We love to capture the final moments of such big games and we were up there with them when the final hand took place. Guneet was super short stacked, so Gagandeep had no problem with going all-in with just 10 and 8 as his hole cards. Guneet had the advantage of having an Ace but unfortunately, a ten was hit on the flop itself.

Guneet needed an Ace in the turn or river to stay alive and double up but alas, it wasn’t to be. He ended his tournament in second place and Gagandeep was overjoyed. The two players shared a congratulatory hug and there was a loud applause all across the poker room in Deltin Royale, Goa, after the Tournament Director announced that we had a winner. He brought home not only winnings but also a lot of happiness and this moment will stay in his memory for quite a while. The other highrollers also applauded the final two in heads-up and now, just four side events are left to be concluded at the WPT Prime India 2023 series in Goa, including the Megastack Closer, Turbo Closer, 50k NLH, and the Big Bounty.
