Friday Round Up: Guneet Kwatra & Manish Lakhotia Clinch Titles 


India Online Poker Championship (IOPC) July 2021 made most online regs participate in its tournaments. While the majority of players were sweating it out in IOPC, online regs Manish Lakhotia and Guneet Kwatra swiftly lifted winning titles by grinding on Adda52 and PokerBaazi. The Ballers – ₹22.5 Lakh GTD

The Ballers tournament on Adda52 is a staple Friday event. This ₹7,500 buy-in tournament had 327 entries in total and Guneet Kwatra traversed to the top to clinch the winning title. Kwatra took home ₹5,62,500 in prize money. The top 34 players were paid a min-cash of ₹15,750.

 Running Hot – ₹5 Lakh GTD

The Running Hot tournament on Adda52 was shipped by online reg Manish Lakhotia aka ‘newkidpoker.’ Lakhotia received a pay cheque of ₹1,42,336. The field in the Running Hot tournament was quite competitive with 278 entries fighting for the top spot.  The initial guarantee of this event was crushed and a slightly bigger prize pool of ₹5,56,000 was formed. The top 30 players in this 2,200 buy-in event were paid a min-cash of ₹4,448.

The Weekly Highroller – ₹12 Lakh GTD

Highroller tournaments are crowd pullers. The Weekly Highroller on PokerBaazi had 162 entries in total for a buy-in of ₹11,000. The winner was ‘boomttt23’ who took home ₹4,17,000 in prize money. The top 18 players were paid a min-cash of ₹21,220. The advertised guarantee of this event was crushed and the final prize pool stood at ₹16,20,000.

The highroller saw several players on the final table such as Mohammad Azhar (3rd, ₹1,88,000), Arun Sriram (4th, ₹1,39,000), Ritwik Khanna (5th, ₹1.04.000), Dhaval Mudgal (7th, ₹69,340), Armaan Kochhar (8th, ₹55,500) among others. Notable players who made it in the money during this tournament were IOPC veteran Arjanveer Singh Chadha (9th, ₹41,630), Anmol Mehta (10th, ₹30,290), Sahil Mahboobani (12th, ₹30,290), Abhishek Rathod (13th, ₹24,950), Ankit Wadhawan (14th, ₹24,950), Kanchan Sharma (18th, ₹21,220) among others.
