Friday night Elite title goes to Sanat Mehrotra

you are an online poker player in India, you can never miss Friday nights on Spartan Poker. Firstly, it’s one of only two days of the week where you can play in more than one high-value tournaments. Also, it’s the day on which Elite INR 25 Lakh GTD takes place, a tournament which is hosted only for the top players, with a high buy-in of INR 11,000.

The growing popularity of this tournament led to a recent increase in the promised guarantee, but this guarantee was still passed with 256 entries registering and creating a new prize pool of INR 25.6 Lakh. Eventually, this was shared by the top 27 players of the night, each receiving a pay-out of at least INR 25,600.

Before we got to the final stages, a few top names busted in the money including Sajal Gupta (24th), recent Destiny winner Gokul Raj (21st), Abhinav Iyer (19th), Neel Joshi (18th), Ashish Ahuja (13th) and Sumit Sapra (9th). The first 6-figure payout went to Shravan Chhabria aka ‘D.Trump04’ who won INR 1.3 Lakh for this deep run.

The competition heated up from here on as there were some seriously talented poker players on the Final Table. However, it was Sanat Mehrotra aka ‘mehro2511’ who managed to beat them all on the night and take home the biggest prize of INR 5,67,040. Surely, Mehrotra’s going to have himself a nice little weekend!

Winning Elite on Spartan Poker is never easy and with all the names you’ve read above, you can see why. In heads-up too, Mehrotra was against Gaurav Sood aka ‘mozzie17’, a player who has been looting titles across every poker platform in India in recent months. Here however, he had to settle for the runner-up position and a prize of INR 3.82 Lakh. In 4th place was another popular face in Goonjan Mall, winning INR 2.14 Lakh for his run.
