Final Table Series Playing On Our Minds!

Have you ever wondered what’s it like to prep before an important poker tournament or a series? Well, we had some burning questions of our own to ask poker players. So guess what we did? Of course, we spoke to poker players and asked them about the fourth edition of Final Table Series (FTS). The Indian poker circuit no doubt is quite pumped up about this poker event. With attractive guarantees, leaderboard prizes, and a whole lot of fun and thrill, FTS is where you should be.

We spoke to Haider Madraswala aka ‘Callmebabe’ and Vivek Singh aka ‘KasolHeights’ for a quick chat to know about their prep and some more.

We took a walk down memory lane and asked Madraswala about his FTS 3.0 Friday Special victory. He said,That one was my largest online score since a very long time, so I was quite stoked about it. I ran pretty well to make things easier for me and I could’ve had a way tougher final table (FT) than what I did. So it was a bit of a joy ride all the way till the end, certainly a whole lot of fun and excitement which was very important.”

We asked this multi-table tournament player about the one thing he will do differently in the current edition of the series. Madraswala was quick to add, “This time around, I would like to play all the events, make a run at the leaderboard and be super diligent with my pre-grind and post-grind routines. I have been paying a lot more attention to this mental game and to performance enhancement. Now I’ll get a good opportunity to test my knowledge!”

A game is never complete without competitors and that’s what we asked Madraswala next. He said, “Earlier I could have named a handful of threats, but now I see a lot of dedicated, hard-working and hungry individuals and since there’s a lot of strategy-based information available on the web for free, I’m sure a lot of aspiring players have been juicing it to the max, putting in the volume and getting better every day!

This is so beautiful to witness, and it keeps me on my feet, apart from pursuing my goals in my own fashion! The recreational players also come with their own styles and they are hard to predict so I would say most of the field is a challenge and I am going to have a blast playing against them.”

When asked this Mega Stack winner about the latest edition of FTS, he said, “I believe the stage is set for a phenomenal series and we might see some outstanding performances. If the FTs are aired live then it will be a great opportunity for the aspiring players to learn from the finalists. And of course no doubt, the live streams make for fabulous entertainment.”

We threw some interesting questions at Vivek Singh who has been making headlines with his impeccable victories in poker. We were most curious to know about his preparation. Singh said, “I had done a lot of preparation for the India Online Poker Championship (IOPC) January 2022, so my prep included a lot of recovery from the previous series. A review of IOPC was a good way to prepare for the fourth edition of FTS.”

Vivek Singh

This Destiny winner is quite upbeat about the fourth edition of FTS and so will be his opponents who are looking to tackle him on the virtual felts. But Singh isn’t worried about rivals. He said, “I am my biggest competitor. It’s always been me vs me.” We agree with Singh on this as one should always do better than what was achieved in the past.

When we asked the Friday Spotlight winner about his approach towards high-value tournaments versus the mid-value ones, he said, “Any tournament I grind in, I give it my 100%. So my approach doesn’t change but my game style changes depending on the buy-in and players in the game.” We couldn’t help but ask Singh about his FTS 3.0 High Roller win. Like we thought, the pro admitted to this victory being his best memory of FTS 3.0.

He further adds, “The experience was surreal as I was travelling to Sikkim for a live cash game. Winning the High Roller was even better because I was with a few close friends and they saw me win in Sikkim. It was a blast, the victory made my trip even more memorable.” Singh vows to make it to more final tables in the latest edition of FTS and we would love to see him do just that.

Drawing curtains on an engaging conversation is hard. But we had to end our candid chats with both these poker players. We hope you’ve got a good dose of insights about what Madraswala and Singh feel about the upcoming FTS, taking down rivals and winning.
