Yashasvi Jaiswal has started to knock on the doors of the India A squad as well as the national team with the young batter shining in the Indian domestic circuit once again. The 20-year-old youngster has gone on to score a century in the Duleep Trophy final against South Zone at the SNR College Cricket Ground, Coimbatore.

Playing for the West Zone, Yashasvi put up a stunning display filled with hard work and patience. Opening the innings with Prithvi Shaw, the young batter managed to bounce back in fantastic fashion in the second innings. Jaiswal was dismissed for just one run in the first innings with Cheepurapalli Stephen sending him back to the pavilion.
However, Yashasvi Jaiswal managed to get his act together in the second innings and reached the three-figure mark off the 41st over against Basil Thampi. The West Zone batter hit the short ball towards third man and got his much-awaited century.

He celebrated with a loud roar with his teammates giving the youngster a standing ovation for his fantastic innings. Jaiswal jumped and punched the air in delight as the ball raced towards the boundary rope and removed his helmet to soak in the applause. The opener later went on to celebrate reaching the milestone by smashing three back-to-back boundaries in the same over.
Earlier, Yashasvi Jaiswal had a debut to remember in Duleep Trophy as he went on to score his maiden first-class double hundred. It came in West Zone’s quarter-final clash against Northeast Zone in Chennai. Playing alongside Mumbai teammate Prithvi Shaw while opening the innings, the duo recorded a 206-run partnership for the first-wicket.
They went on to lay a solid foundation for North Zone with Jaiswal and Shaw, both scoring their respective centuries. The southpaw later went on to unleash some magnificent strokes after taking his time to settle in and smashed 22 fours and 3 sixes while ending his innings with a double ton against his name on debut.
