World Test Championship Players Ranking: Updated Players Ranking: Rohit Sharma, who has been ruled out from the South Africa tour due to injuries, and Virat Kohli, who missed the second test, have remained at the fifth and ninth positions respectively in the latest International Cricket Council (ICC) world rankings.
Rohit has 781 rating points and is placed at number five on the test ranking, while Kohli remains in the top 10 with 740 points. Australia’s Marnus Labuschagne is at the top of the batting list, where the right-handed batsman is leading the chart with 924 points in his account. England’s captain Joe Root (881) and veteran batsman Steve Smith (871) are in second and third positions respectively.
New Zealand captain Kane Williamson (862) is in fourth place. Whereas Indian opener Mayank Agarwal has slipped a place to 13th position. India’s experienced off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin is second with 861 points in the bowlers’ list. Apart from him, no other Indian bowler is on the top ten test rankings list.
Australia captain Pat Cummins is at the top of the rankings, followed by Ashwin and New Zealand Kyle Jamieson. 2022 is indeed a year for Ashwin as he is designated as the number two all-rounder in the test ranking. Jason Holder of West Indies tops the lists. Among other players, Usman Khawaja, who scored centuries in both innings of the fourth Ashes Test, re-entered the batting rankings by reaching 26th position.
