Zimbabwe managed to pull off one of the most memorable upsets in the ongoing ICC T20 World Cup. The African outfit defeated Pakistan in the ongoing edition of the tournament. The 2009 T20 World Cup champions failed to chase a target of a mere 131, with Zimbabwe snatching out a 1-run win in their latest outing.
After restricting the African outfit to a narrow total, Pakistan failed to get going in the second innings, with their openers walking back into the hut within the first five overs. The likes of Shadab Khan and Shan Masood steadied the ship, but Zimbabwe managed to get rid of them in crucial situations by riding on the performances of Sikandar Raza, who ended up pocketing three wickets against the Men in Green.
Both teams were in the game till the last six balls, with Pakistan needing to score 11 runs in the final over. Azam’s men seemed to be in the front seat after they managed to score seven runs in the first two balls to push the pressure back on Zimbabwe.

However, Brad Evans kept his cool and managed to dismiss Mohammad Nawaz, bringing the equation down to Pakistan needing three off the last delivery to win the game. In the end, Zimbabwe managed to restrict Pakistan and win the match by one run.
It led to some unbelievable scenes on the ground, with the win being a historic moment for the team. The African side has failed to get going in the last few years, and a victory over the Asian giants saw them celebrate with utter joy on the ground.
After the game, the duo of Brad Evans and Ryan Burl were seen enjoying the win by sipping Indian beer. Burl posted a picture of the same on his official Twitter account with the caption, “Can’t believe what just happened #t20worldcup.”

The tweet was a hit amongst Indian cricket fans who celebrated the loss of their arch-rivals Pakistan citing Zimbabwe’s win. After the loss to Zimbabwe, Pakistan needs to win all their remaining games in order to have a chance of making it to the ICC T20 World Cup semi-finals.
