The new season of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2024) is almost upon us. Regarding the Indian Premier League (IPL), no other franchise leagues can match the ambience of the IPL. Players across the globe participate in the grand event and earn millions just by doing what they do for their national side. Yes, by playing cricket! IPL is a house of cricketers whose doors are open for every cricketer in the world except Pakistan!
2008 was the only season when the Pakistani cricketers were part of the IPL. 11 players from Pakistan were represented in IPL. Among many others were Misbah-ul-Haq, Younis Khan, Shoaib Akhtar, Shoaib Malik, Mohammad Asif and Mohammad Hafeez. Records would have shattered if Pakistani cricketers had been a part of the IPL 2023 auction. Political tension between the two countries, however, led to a ban on Pakistani players from participating in the Indian Premier League from 2009 onwards.
IPL 2024 is around the corner, and many people wonder where the current Pakistani stars would be playing if this ban was lifted. How much would their inclusion affect the Indian Premier League? Could these players be the marquee players for different Indian Premier League Franchises? We have discussed where some of the best Pakistani players would be playing in IPL 2024 if the ban was lifted.

Mumbai Indians have made a good squad for IPL 2024, but it goes without saying that they would live to improve in the bowling department. Their options currently include the likes of Gerald Coetzee and Jason Behrendorff. While they are good options to have, imagine Naseem Shah bowling alongside Jasprit Bumrah. Mumbai Indians would simply be unplayable.
Nassem Shah has developed into one of the best fast bowlers in the world and is just 21 years old. A player like him would surely come on Mumbai Indian’s radar, and he would have been an extremely good addition to the current Mumbai Indians squad.
Babar Azam would be a perfect fit for Chennai Super Kings in IPL 2024. He would fit right in the squad. It is likely that Ajinkya Rahane may have to play at 3, or Daryl Mitchell may come in at 3 for Chennai. This problem would be solved if CSK were allowed to sign Babar Azam.
The Pakistani Batsman would slot in perfectly at the number 3 role. If CSK had Babar Azam for IPL 2024, they would not need to sign Daryl Mitchell at all. Azam would be their fourth foreigner in the starting XI. This would strengthen the team, and Chennai Super Kings would become one of the favourites to win IPL 2024. Alas, Pakistan cricketers are still banned from the IPL, and this is not a viable option.

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) have needed a foreign opener for a very long time. They thought their search had come to an end when they managed to sign Rahmanullah Gurbaz in 2023. However, his performances did not end up being as good as expected. KKR ended up finishing seventh in IPL 2023.
If they could sign Mohammad Rizwan ahead of IPL 2024, it would greatly boost their squad. KKR has a good batting line-up overall but needs a consistent opener to round it up. Mohammad Rizwan would be able to do exactly that if Pakistani Players were allowed to play in IPL 2024.
The bowling department has always been a concern for the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). If Shaheen Afridi had participated in the IPL 2024 auction, the red army would have gone all in to pick Afridi into their squad. With the likes of Mohammad Siraj and Shaheen Afridi leading the bowling line-up for RCB, their bowling line-up would have become terrifying.
Shaheen Afridi is the best left-handed bowler in the world, and with the ability to pick wickets in the powerplays and death overs, RCB would have become a very strong contender to win IPL 2024. The batting side of Bangalore still looks lethal, but they seem to lack the firepower when it comes to bowling and Shaheen Afridi would have been he perfect replacement for them.
Aamir Jamal Well Played 😍🥵pic.twitter.com/JN42FmzV1K

Aamir Jamal is starting to prove to be an exceptional all-rounder. No matter which cricket team in the world you select, a good all-rounder is always welcome. They are the rarest commodity in the sport, and Indian Premier League teams would be raring to sign Aamir Jamal for IPL 2024 now that he is showing the world what he is capable of.
A team like Gujarat Titans would love to have Jamal in their squad. They could replace someone like Rahul Tewatia with Aamir Jamal, a pace-bowling all-rounder. If the ban was lifted and Pakistani players were allowed to participate in the Indian Premier League, this move would surely make sense for Gujarat Titans and would allow them to strengthen their team even further.
