Virat Kohli Wins Hearts’ With THIS Act Against SA

KL Rahul scored 57 off 28 runs and was adjudged the Player of the Match award in the second T20I against South Africa on Sunday. Suryakumar Yadav also asserted his dominance scoring a quick-fire 22-ball 61 and put up a 102-run partnership with Virat Kohli before getting run out in the 19th over. However, the 33 year old managed to get on his act going and smashed two back-to-back fours to reach 49-mark with just one over to go.

The former Indian captain needed just only one run in the last over to get his half century but found himself on the non-striker end with Dinesh Karthik on the crease. After missing the first ball, the veteran wicket keeper smashed a four on the second before missing yet another ball and later scoring a six off the 4th ball of the last over.

Following the six, Karthik was seen approaching Kohli asking if he should look to score a single off the next ball to get him strike. However, he instructed Karthik to go and take the strike with the wicketkeeper scoring another big six before taking a bye run on the last ball. Virat Kohli’s act of letting go of a fifty for team’s betterment won a lot of hearts across social media.

While Kohli missed his fifty by just one run, The hosts managed to score 18 runs in the last over. However, the former captain went on to be the first Indian player to score 11000 runs in T20 cricket with this 49-run knock. 

India registered a massive 16 run victory over South Africa on Sunday in the second T20I to pocket a series win with a game to spare. The Men in Blue won their first series against South Africa at home after posting a jaw dropping score of 237 runs in the first innings.
