Virat Kohli played heroically against Sunrisers Hyderabad during Royal Challengers Bangalore’s 13th match in the Indian Premier League. The former Indian skipper hit his first century in this tournament after nearly four years. He rose to the occasion when it mattered the most to steer RCB’s ship on the winning ways and keep them alive in the hunt for an IPL 2023 Playoff spot.
Heinrich Klaasen’s knock, as the SRH wicketkeeper who scored his maiden Indian Premier League century, helped his side reach 186/5 with a timely cameo by Harry Brook, to enable SRH to reach a competitive total. Speaking about the chance, Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis timed the RCB innings to perfection, with the duo going hard at the start before mitigating the risk in the middle overs.
The South African star ended up completing his fifty in 35 balls while Kohli beached the 50 run mark off 34 balls. The duo build the innings while keeping the run rate in check to build a 170 run partnership. Kohli looked to accelerate in the last 5 overs and managed to bring up his first ton of IPL 2023. However, he soon perished after reaching the three-figure mark.

Despite not finishing the game, Kohli got the job done by propelling his team into a winning position. His playing style and proper coordination from Faf du Plessis resulted in RCB’s win in just 19.2 overs. The performance of King Kohli drew the attention of every RCB fan, with the whole team dugout also seen bowling down to him.
Citing the win, RCB has managed to stay afloat in the race for a playoff spot. It remains interesting to see if the Bangalore-based side manages to go all the way this time around.
