Virat Kohli And KL Rahul To Miss Final T20I Against SA; Reports

The Men in Blue will head into the upcoming India vs South Africa 3rd T20 clash after pocketing the three match series following their 16 run victory in Guwahati. KL Rahul shined with the bat while Virat Kohli stitched up a match winning 102-run partnership with Suryakumar Yadav to help the Men in Blue put on a jaw-dropping 237 runs in the first innings.

The 33 year old who remained not out in the 3rd T20 gained a lot of praise after the former Indian captain asked Dinesh Karthik to remain on strike and aim for boundaries in the final over. Virat Kohli was on 49* needed just only one run in the last over to get his half century but found himself on the non-striker end.

Instead of asking Karthik to to score a single off and get him strike, Kohli instructed the wicketkeeper to aim for big shots. The 37 year old did not disappoint and scored a big six before taking a bye run on the last ball. Virat Kohli’s act of letting go of a fifty for team’s betterment saw him get a lot of praise by the fans.

Virat Kohli and KL Rahul rested for 3rd T20I

According to reports, the former India skipper is speculated to be rested for the third and final T20I which is set to be played in Indore on 4th October. The Indian team vice captain Kl Rahul is set to join him on the sidelines with the duo rested for the final clash.  The 3rd T20I was their last assignment before they go to Australia alongside the Indian team, with the Men in Blue set to feature in the ICC T20 World Cup.

Despite India playing South Africa in three more game after the Indore T20I clash, the likes of Virat Kohli and KL Rahul are set to miss those games. All members of the Indian squad selected to feature in the ICC T20 World Cup set to fly off to Australia before the series begins.

India will also play 2 warm up games against Australia and New Zealand respectively before featuring in the ICC T20 World Cup.

With one more T20I clash left, Rohit Sharma and co will look to register a clean sweep before heading to Australia and beginning their preparations for the highly anticipated T20 World Cup.
