Looking at Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and Vijay Hazare Trophy 2022, I believe that some youngsters will surprise everyone with their IPL contract. As we know, BCCI is all set to host the auctions of IPL 2023 on 23rd December 2022 at Kochi, Kerala. 

According to the reports, 991 players have registered for IPL 2023 auction, where thanks to the retention and released scenario, there are high chances that several young lads may receive an IPL contract. Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and Vijay Hazare trophy proved to be one of the best sources of producing talents, and with the amount of caliber the youngsters had shown, IPL 2023 auctions would be interesting to watch.

Koushik is a new bowling sensation in Karnataka cricket who has performed wonders in the domestic circuit. Koushik is neither muscular nor bulky, which is required for fast bowling. He doesn’t rely on pace and doesn’t have a dangerous bouncer. His unique selling point is his ability to move the ball both ways.

Vasuki Koushik Bowling Stats In Domestic Circuit

In his 56 domestic games, Koushik had picked 90 wickets with a career-best of 6/72 in First Class cricket. Decoding his career for the Indian domestic circuit, Koushik had played three first-class games, where the right-handed bowler had picked up 13 wickets with an exceptional bowling economy of 2.19.

The Right arm medium bowler shocked everyone in List A cricket, where he scalped 37 wickets in 20 games with an economy of 3.42. These numbers must be addressed. I agree age is the concern, but why not try someone in your team who is more experienced than several cricketers? He can be the next Praveen Kumar for team India if groomed well. Talents need opportunities, and with this fast-growing T20 format, BCCI overlooks this kind of talent. Talking about his T20 records, in 33 games he played, Koushik had 40 wickets with an economy of 7.59. 

Which Franchise Should Bid on Koushik?

Franchises such as Royal Challengers Bangalore and Rajasthan Royals may bid for Koushik, as the bowling department is always a concern for both sides. Having someone like him in the squad would be like the cherry on the cake for RCB and RR.
