Alfredo Di Stefano is a fabulous forward who has played for three separate international teams throughout his career. He started off by representing the Argentina football team before deciding to represent Colombia. Finally, he decided to settle with Spain as his international country in 1957. Di Stefano represented the Spanish football team from 1957 to 1961, scoring 23 goals in just 31 appearances, which puts his goals-per-game ratio at an impressive 0.74, more than anyone on this list.

Emilio Butragueno played as a striker for the Spain football team from 1984 to 1992. He scored 26 goals for his country in 69 games at a goals-per-game ratio of 0.38. Butragueno was a Real Madrid legend and spent nearly the entirety of his career playing for them. He made a total of 460 appearances for Real Madrid’s first team and won several honours with them, including six La Liga titles and two UEFA cups.

7. Fernando Morientes – 27 Goals

Fernando Morientes is another legendary Spanish striker who has made his way onto this list due to his brilliant goal-scoring abilities. Morientes represented his country from 1998 to 2007, making 47 appearances and scoring 27 goals in the process. He ended his international career with a goals-per-game ratio of 057. Fernando Morientes played for a lot of clubs in his domestic career, but like most players on this list, the majority of his club career was spent representing Real Madrid.

6. Fernando Hierro – 29 Goals

Fernando Hierro is the second and final player on this list who is not an attacking player. Like Sergio Ramos, Hierro’s primary job was to prevent his opposition from scoring, but his intuition helped him get in the correct places and score goals as well. Hierro is another Real Madrid legend who spent most of his career with the Los Blancos. The defender played for Spain from 1989 to 2002, scoring 29 goals in 89 appearances at a goals-per-game ratio of 0.33.

5. David Silva – 35 Goals

David Siva is an attacking midfielder who represented the Spanish football team from 2006 to 2018. Despite primarily being the playmaker and creator, Silva managed to find his name on the scoresheet quite regularly. David Silva scored 35 goals in 125 appearances for Spain, ending his international career with a goals-per-game ratio of 0.28. He was also a key part of the talented Spanish squad, which won the 2010 FIFA World Cup alongside the 2008 and 2012 UEFA Euros.

This puts his goals-per-game ratio at 0.44, behind only Fernando Morientes, David Villa and Alfredo Di Stefano.
