Robert Lewandowski made his international debut for Poland on 10th September 2008. Lewandowski is still an active player for his country and can move further up the list in the future. The striker is widely regarded as the best Polish footballer of all time. Lewandowski has made 156 appearances for his country and scored 84 goals which makes his goals per game ratio 0.54.

Ferenc Puskas is a legendary football player who represented Hungary. The striker is regarded as one of the best strikers in history and even has an award named after him known as the ‘Puskas Award’. Puskas made his debut for Hungary on 20th August 1945 with his last appearance coming on 14th October 1956. He scored 84 goals in 85 appearances, putting his goals-per-game ratio at 0.99.

Romelu Lukaku is one of the most underrated strikers in history. He is a terrific goal scorer and has many records to match that, but he is still very highly ridiculed. Lukaku is another player on this list who is still an active player and can score more goals to move further up the list. The Belgian star made his debut for his nation on 3rd March 2010. Ali Mabkhout is a professional footballer who plays for the United Arab Emirates. He made his debut for his country on 15th November 2009 and is still an active international player. He has made 114 appearances for the United Arab Emirates football team and scored 85 goals which makes his goals-per-game ratio 0.75. It will be interesting to see when Mabkhout will be able to represent his nation and how many goals he will end up with.

Mokhtar Dahari is a footballer who played for Malaysia in the 70s and the 80s. He made his debut for them on 5th June 1972 and continued playing for them for nearly 13 years, playing his final game for his nation on 19th May 1985. He made 142 appearances for the Malaysian football club and scored 89 goals, ending his career with a goals-per-game ratio of 0.63. Dahari won four Pestabola Merdekas, two King’s Cups, two SEA games, and the bronze medal in the Asian Games.

Sunil Chhetri is the greatest Indian footballer of all time and is the fourth-highest international goal scorer in history. He made his international debut on 12th June 2005 and very recently retired from international football with his last appearance for India coming on 6th June 2024. The striker made 151 appearances for the Indian football team and scored 94 goals at a goals-per-game ratio of 0.62. He won the AFC Challenge Cup, three SAFF Championships, three Nehru Cups, 2 Intercontinental Cups, and a Tri-Nation Series with his country.
Ali Daei is the third-highest international goal scorer of all time. The only two footballers to have scored more goals than him are Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo. Daei is a retired Iranian professional footballer who represented his country from 6th June 1993 to 21st June 2006. He made 148 appearances for them in history and scored 108 goals, making him one of the only three players to have more than 100 goals. He ended his career having a goals-per-game ratio of 0.73.

Lionel Messi is an Argentinian professional footballer who is regarded as one of the best footballers of all time. He started playing for them on 17th August 2005 and is still currently playing for them. He has made 189 appearances for them and scored 112 goals at a goals-per-game ratio of 0.59. Messi has won the FIFA World Cup, two Copa Americas, and one Finalissima title with Argentina.
