The game between Juventus and Inter Milan on 26th April 1998 is known as one of the most iconic Derby d’Italia matches in history. The only goal came thanks to an acute finish from Alessandro Del Piero in the 69th minute. However, the game is known for the controversy that followed. Mark Iuliano seemed to foul Ronaldo Nazario in the box, but referee Piero Ceccarini waved play on. Juventus sprinted to the other side, and Ceccarini decided to award a penalty after Taribo West’s clumsy challenge. The game between Inter Milan and Juventus, which took place on 26th April 1992, can simply be described as the ‘Roberto Baggio Show’. Baggio’s ascent to becoming the best player in the world was evident in this match at San Siro. The Italians ended up being involved in all three of Juventus’ goals. Baggio scored the first goal in the 30th minute and followed this up by scoring a second in the 37th minute. While this put Juventus in a very good position, Baggio was not done yet.
