The ICC Men’s One Day International (ODI) bowlers rankings list has seen quite a few changes take place in 2024. Players like Kuldeep Yadav have managed to get past some rival bowlers and solidify their place as the best ODI bowlers in the world, while others have fallen down in rankings. However, most countries have played very few ODI games this year, as most of the focus was on the Twenty20 International (T20I) World Cup, which is why not too many changes have happened this year. This article talks about the top 10 ranked ODI bowlers at the end of 2024.

Josh Hazlewood is currently ranked 10th in the ICC Men’s One Day International (ODI) bowling rankings. His rating of 634 puts him just ahead of West Indies bowler Gudakesh Motie. Hazlewood’s highest rating was 727, which he achieved after the game against England in Melbourne in 2022. His best performance this year came against the West Indies on 4th February 2024, when he picked up three wickets while conceding just 43 runs in eight overs.
Adam Zampa is the second and last Australian bowler to make it onto the ICC Men’s One Day International (ODI) bowling rankings top 10 list with a rating of 635. The talented spinner put in his best performance of the year on 19th September 2024 in a game against England. He picked up three wickets while conceding just 49 runs in his 10 overs. Zampa’s highest-ever ICC rating was 698, which he achieved after the game against England at Trent Bridge in 2024.

Mohammed Siraj is the first Indian to make it onto this list. He currently has a rating of 643, which makes him 8th in the ICC Men’s One Day International (ODI) bowling rankings. The Indian star’s best-ever rating was 736, which came after the game against New Zealand at Raipur in 2023. Mohammed Siraj has played just three ODI games this year, with his best performance coming against Sri Lanka on 1st August 2024, where he picked up one wicket while conceding 36 runs in eight overs.
Jasprit Bumrah is someone you would expect to be higher on this, but one of the reasons he is so low is that he has not played a single One Day International (ODI) game in 2024. Despite not playing even one game, Bumrah has retained his place in the top 10 list, finishing in the seventh spot in the ICC Men’s One Day International (ODI) bowling rankings with a rating of 645. Bumrah’s best-ever rating was 838, a feat he achieved after the game against West Indies at Trivandrum in 2018.
Maheesh Theekshana is the only Sri Lankan bowler on this list. He currently has a rating of 650, which makes him 6th in the ICC Men’s One Day International (ODI) bowling rankings. Theekshana achieved this rating after the game against New Zealand at Pallekele in 2024, and this is the highest ICC rating the Sri Lankan star has ever managed in his career. Theekshana’s best performance in 2024 came against Zimbabwe on 8th January 2024, when he picked up four wickets while conceding just 31 runs in 9.4 overs.

Bernard Scholtz is a very unexpected name, and no one would have expected him to make it to the top four of the ICC Men’s One Day International (ODI) bowling rankings. He currently has a rating of 654, which means he is drawing with Keshav Maharaj for the fourth spot. Scholtz’s best rating was 659, which came after the game against UAE at Namibia in 2024. The Namibian star’s best performance came against Nepal on 21st February 2024, when he picked up four wickets while conceding just 31 runs in 10 overs.
Keshav Maharaj is a South African bowler who is level in rating with Bernard Scholtz, with both of them drawing for the fourth spot. Maharaj currently has a rating of 654, which, while being good, pales in comparison to his best ICC rating, which is 741, a feat he achieved after the game against Australia at Kolkata in 2023. Maharaj has not played a single ODI game this year but has still managed to maintain his position in the ICC Men’s One Day International (ODI) bowling rankings.

His best-ever rating is 696, something he achieved in a game against Australia at Perth Stadium in 2024.
Kuldeep Yadav is the third and final Indian player to appear on this list, and his current rating of 665 helps him finish second in the ICC Men’s One Day International (ODI) bowling rankings. Kuldeep Yadav has only played three ODI games this year, with his best performance coming in Sri Lanka on 4th August 2024, where he picked up two wickets while conceding just 33 runs in 10 overs.
