Rohit Sharma (C), Virat Kohli, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Suryakumar Yadav, Rishabh Pant (WK), Sanju Samson (WK), Hardik Pandya (VC), Shivam Dube, Ravindra Jadeja, Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, Yuzvendra Chahal, Arshdeep Singh, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj.
Rohit Sharma and Ajit Agarkar are set to address the press and answer any questions related to the selection process on 2nd May. This press conference will take place on Thursday at 16:00 IST in Mumbai.
The duo will have to answer some hard-hitting questions, the biggest one being why Rinku Singh was dropped from the T20 World Cup squad. After his performances in last year’s IPL as well as for India in T20is, everyone thought he was a player guaranteed to be selected. There were talks as to whether he would make it to the starting squad or not, but no one expected that he would not be a part of the 15-man squad at all.

When India released their squad on 31st April, Rinku Singh’s absence was the biggest question on everyone’s mind. Rohit Sharma and Ajit Agarkar decided to pick Shivam Dube instead of Rinku Singh. Dube has been having a phenomenal IPL season and also deserves to be picked, but this selection, which resulted in Rinku Singh’s exclusion from the squad, has hurt many fans across the country.

India has also picked Ravindra Jadeja, Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, and Yuzvendra Chahal. That means they are taking two spinners and two spinning all-rounders to the World Cup. Many people have noticed this and asked if there was a need to take so many spin options. Many believe that India could have easily dropped one of these four options and taken Rinku Singh instead, who deserves a spot in the team more than anywhere else. We will have to how Rohit Sharma and Ajit Agarkar reply to these questions in the press conference, as there are surely going to be some hard-hitting questions coming their way.
