Suyash Sharma Career

Hailing from the Bhajanpura area in Delhi, Suyash Sharma is a spinner who was born on 15th May 2003. He is yet to feature in play a List A match, a first-class match, or a T20 match for his state team. After some intervention by former Delhi cricketer Kartar Nath, Suyash got an opportunity to play in the U25 Men’s State A trophy for Delhi in 2022. He fared well in the two matches he played and managed to pick up five wickets.

Later on, Suyash travelled down to the KKR academy for trials ahead of the IPL 2023 auction, which took place in December 2022. Following his performance in the trials, Kolkata Knight Riders decided to buy him at the IPL 2023 auction for a sum of Rs 20 lakh.

After signing for the Kolkata-based franchise, the young spinner got a chance to make his debut in the Indian Premier League (IPL). He shined in his first match against Royal Challengers Bangalore, wherein he claimed three wickets and helped KKR record a massive 81-run win. KKR CEO Venky Mysore was seen crediting team scouts for eyeing and roping in the New Delhi-based star.

The leg-spinner grabbed a lot more eyeballs after he sent Gujarat Titans’ star Abhinav Manohar in the hut with a stunning googly. His bowling has gained praise on social media, making him an instant hit amongst IPL fanatics. It remains interesting to be seen if Suyash Sharma can continue to keep up with consistent performances in IPL 2023.
